I find this quite ironic. On December 4th of this year our athletic director and other members of the administration will be in New York at the College Football Hall of Fame induction ceremony to talk with potential candidates for the Tennessee head football coach position.
The reason they are there. To induct Coach Phillip Fulmer, the coach Tennessee fired.
Ironic.
It is hard to understand how some people who are supposed to be UT fans continue to put down Coach Fulmer.
I believe he had lost his drive, and it was time for him to step aside. I wish he had done it on his own, and not have to go through what he did.
Having said that, he did a fantastic job at Tennessee over a long period of time. He deserves the honor he is receiving, and he deserves our thanks and respect. There has never been any doubt that he truly loves Tennessee.
I spoke with him a few weeks ago in Lawrenceburg, Tn where he spoke at a FCA banquet. He did a great job, and it was clear he still loves UT.
It was time for him to step aside, but it will never be the time any Vol fan should disrespect him. He gave his all for us on the field as a player, as a coach, and he continues to be a proud Tennessee Vol.
Thanks Coach, and may God continue to bless you and your great family.

You raise vaild points, that no one is going to dispute....up to a point in time. Fulmer mailed it in the last 2-3years, and he knew, it and that is why Vol fans will not forget.
This is largely why we are bottom feeders today.
