Is a vote for a 3rd party really a vote for a 3rd party?

hard to find donut joints anymore.

shipleys here in nashville is by far the best in da world but all their locations close at 3 except Madisons.

no 24 hour donut joints around. makes me kinda sad when i'm craving me some hot fresh midnight donuts.

The shipleys here in columbia sucks. I have to stop at Krispy Kreme every time the light is on when I am up there though.

True. Democan begins with a D and Republicrat begins with an R.

In practice, they differ only slightly.

That is why the rhetoric has gotten so over the top. They have to try so hard to appear different because they act almost exactly the same. (granted, there are a couple of differences, but they agree on over 90%)

And most of those differences are various social agendas which, IMO, should be mostly seperate from politics altogether.

with people arguing politics and not understanding political systems, I can understand.

If you dont undertand how other political systems work its probably best not to suggest something change.

Holy crap. Initially, I stopped reading after the first sentence. You've got to be kidding me.

I asked an honest question about what makes a 3rd party impossible and you fly off the handle attacking me as if I'm making an argument.

What exactly convinces everybody that we'll never have a viable 3rd party? Other nations have 3 party systems. What makes it an impossibility here?

Your response:

with a remark like that then its true you dont understand politics.

Take a Poly Sci class about different types of governements.

Before arrogantly suggesting people should educate themselves, maybe you should brush up on some reading comprehension exercises.

You are not conforming. Therefore, you are useless.

Who the heck is this Johnson guy??? I keep up with politics as much as the next guy and never heard of him until reading this thread. I'm not a Romney fan but honestly ATP I'll take him over what we have now. IMHO that's all...

The last third party guy to make a real dent was Perot and that just proved the OPs pt IMO. We got Clinton cause he was pissed that he wasn't allowed to go to Asia after he funded whatever it was he funded...

the Libertarian Party could have had a viable candidate this year had Ron Paul decided that the GOP is a lost cause instead of thinking that he can bring it back in line with Reagan and Goldwater.
