Did anyone else here Ainge early this week say that it was well-known in the circle of boosters and ex-players that Cuonzo feels like he could happy coaching basketball anywhere and that he doesn' t have to be at UT? I had never heard this before, but it did make perfect sense considering that he never shown a shred of passion when we lose a game. Is he pulling a Dooley and biding his time to get out of Knoxville?

if your asking if I think he's just collecting a paycheck and licking his lips in the process than yes.

Could have sworn I have read and heard multiple reports of him talking about how great it is to coach at UT. Not press conferences, but privately, and then it reaches the press.

Does anyone really think that he wants to be an assistant making a couple hundred thousand instead of millions? I would highly doubt it. He is naturally a motivated person based on his story, but I am also sure that he knows there is more to life than basketball.

Actually he appears to be very intelligent and knows basket ball, but for the life of me I can't get my head around why he coaches like a Rec. league daddy. He's got to know that the team needs help from the coaches to win enough to keep him a UT. He certainly doesn't coach like he has a shred of killer instinct about him.

Cuonzo's not having the season we hoped for, but let's not even mention him and Dooley in the same sentence.

I don't know. But if he can not get the job done with this group what will he do with less talent. After Jordy Mac, Stokes, and Maymon is gone. It does not look good. How you going to get some big time talent to come to UT to play basketball. Maybe Butch needs to recruit for basketball too.

I don't know how he feels about Tennessee, but it seems apparent that his stoic demeanor is part of his personality.

He has found that out the hard way.

Does he want to be an assistant somehwere making a couple hundred thousand? No, but I do think it could be within the realm of possibility that he stepped into the the bigtime and realized that the spotlight is too bright for his taste. Like it has been mentioned, he probably has a good perspective of what is important in life, and I am not sure coaching at Tennessee is it. If he gets fired he can pick a another mid-major head coaching job making $400,000 a year with 10% of the media obligations. He can spend time with his young family, make a great living, and do it all in anonymity. He just doesn't coach like a man who would give anything for UT to win. I am not saying this is a bad thing as human being, as most have said, I think he is a great guy. However in basketball coach, I want a guy that east, sleeps, and s**ts basketball and coaches like his life depends on it.

Probably the same people who told you Gruden was already signed to a contract at UT

NCvol17 I think you are right and then some. It is even happening in Knoxville. I had a huge group of people in knoxville planning an event for today from 1-3. Only 2 out of about 20 even thought about there being a UT basketball game to watch and it was even UT-UK at Rupp.
