i'm not, i love it. the libs love it too because they enjoy labelling everyone and putting them nice little race or gender boxes. boxes everywhere. America needs to have a label placed on everything. it's what makes us so powerful and prosperous.

I am definatly tired of it. I mean the constitution says that the president must be American born, if he is "african-american" then by definition he was first african then american soooo technically he is not fully american and cannot be president, quick someone round up the supreme court...

Why do you care? You would be just as mad if they said "Black" president. And he is not Arab.

I'm still trying to figure out why anyone cares that someone else describes him that way. They could call him the third tallest, the seventh lightest, whatever.

Seems to me that being irked by the nomenclature is indicative of a deeper real complaint.

Wow, so you are a full-blood native American?

It almost sounds like you are saying African Americans shouldn't be able to be president.

They shouldn't. AMERICANS should be President.

He needs to pick one. Does he want to represent Aficans or Americans?

It's the media. Get used to it.

It was mentioned, I'm pretty sure in the NCG, that it was the first time it was overseen by a black head official... or something to that effect.

:eek:hmy:

I expect the POTUS to be American....not some hyphenated version of an American.

How politically incorrect of me. :shakehead:

Americans are free-thinkers, not close-minded with only negativity and hatred to spew.

It's not about being politically correct or not. It's about being happy for your country and positive about the direction we are headed in. All this doom and gloom prediction is anti-American and can do no good whatsoever. If you don't like the country you are living in, then move to another.

You are a narrow-minded thinker with no tolerance of anyone who doesn't think exactly like you. Some self analysis is in order, but I doubt you would have the honesty to give yourself an accurate assessment.

how is that closeminded or racist?

and what if im not sold on obamas plans?

by saying those statements, could the same be said about you?

Can someone come up with a clip or quote of Obama referring to himself as an African American? Just curious.

You never answered the question. Do you refer to yourself as a Caucasion-American?

Can you provide a clip of ANY previous POTUS referring to himself as some sort of Hyphenated-American?

When I fill out paper work asking for race, I bubble in "caucasian." I don't qualify as Asian-Pacific Islander, Native American-Alaskan Native, African American, or Hispanic.

I think you are being overly sensitive about talking heads mentioning he is the first nonwhite president. That is a big deal, regardless of politics. He's a combo breaker.

Didn't I ask if you could find Obama referring to himself as an African-American, first?

*crickets*

These "gotcha" games are stupid.

I didn't even vote for the guy. I am not just going to mindlessly cheer lead one party of the other, hopping onto any little thing to criticize.

Everybody bubbles in their race on paperwork.

In general conversation do you refer to yourself as Caucasion-American?

Is there a country or continent called Caucasia that I didn't hear about.

Seriously, though, I understand your point. You want your President to be American, regardless of color. What bothers you is the prefix before the "American" as it cancels out the latter part of the hyphenated word.
