Is Dooley watching?

To continue to kick Dooley when he has been fired only serves one purpose. To make some pathetic folks feel better about themselves. To be so negative only convinces potential players or coaches that they want no part of these pathetic, demanding, critical fans. Tennessee is better than this. Wish The Dooley family well and find something positive in your life.

I agree, but when someone suggests firing Dooley was a mistake, it's fair game.

All kidding aside, I hope we finish off the Cats here, I hope Dools is watching, and I hope he is happy for the team.

I'm sure our next coach will be trolling Volnation before he makes a decision.

Good Lord.

Wish Dooley well? Dools would not even stay around to shake the hands of his seniors in their last game! . . . Please

Honestly, I have more respect for Joker Phillips than Dooley. At least Joker showed up to coach the last three games. From what I understand Dooley was given the option to coach the last game but chose to duck out early.

That's because he knew his players quit on him. I'm glad he didn't coach the last game. Dooley was one of the worst,if not THE worst coach ever at UT.

As HFC every player on the roster is your responsibility, therefore they are his seniors.
They are his responsibility, but he did not offer a scholarship to any of them. They are U.T. seniors. They are not HIS seniors. He had no seniors of his own.

The way that Dooley was treated by the fans after inheriting a disaster, and giving it his best shot for 3 years, I don't blame him for not coaching the last game. I wouldn't be able to get out of Knoxville soon enough.

He did not get the results that he or anyone else wanted, but he represented the University with class, and as a human being who gave his all, deserves more respect than he will ever get from these fans.

The first 2 years Dooley had few players, and a hastily assembled staff. This year, we had decent talent and some depth, but almost all new coaches. I don't know why each one left, but I doubt that Dooley really wanted all of them, because he had little time to hire a great staff. They probably weren't his ideal group. This group that he had this year have had their share of troubles on the defensive side. If you don't think that new co-ordinators make a difference, check out Auburn this year. They have 2 new ones.

I am not saying that Dooley is a great, or even a good coach. I am saying that most anyone would have had poor results with the same deck of cards. Maybe another coach could have kept his staff intact, and had more success this year. The guy did his best considering the circumstances. Dooley has improved the roster. It is time to move on. I have nothing but respect for the man.

Dooley made almost $1M for each win he had at UT over 3 years (including a his buy-out). I don't feel sorry for him, I feel like we got robbed!

I'm sorry, but fans turned even more hostile (if that was even possible) REAL FAST after the Missouri game and the spit really hit the fan after Vandy. Dooley wanted to give the team the best opportunity to win and have support. I was unsure of his decision to not coach the KY game at first, but I completely respect him for it now. He removed himself entirely from the picture and it became much easier for the fans to come and support the team (which is what matters) because he wasn't going to be there. I'm sure he said his proper goodbyes to the team and the seniors.

In case you haven't heard, there is a lot of money in sports. The Boston Red Sox just signed an Atlanta Braves backup catcher, David Ross, to a 2 year-$6.2 million contract. He has a lifetime .238 average. It's a chance you take.

Dooley was the worst hire ever made in UT Sports. No way you can deny that. Should have been fired after the KY game last season.

Dooley gave up on himself and this team. By the Vandy game he wanted to be fired and coached like it was an X-Box game. So he finished out like a spineless POS!

If you're dissing David Ross, you must not be a Braves fan or haven't paid attention to them. Ross is the best backup catcher in the majors and could start on a lot of teams. Ijs

Because his qb had a broken thumb and stunk up the joint, or because some of the players( maybe said qb and Da'Rick) were prima donnas, and didn't want to go to a bowl game that they felt was beneath them? The only problem that I had with Dooley in that game was that he should have benched Bray, and played Simms, or even Worley. There was dissension on that team between the Fulmer players, the Kiffin players, and Dooley's players. There is still some of that.

Dooley( and probably the next coach) had the misfortune of coming into a situation where some of the butt hurt ex-Fulmer players have access to a microphone and/or camera to snipe at him in a very public way. Just because Dooley wanted to do it his way, and not kiss their respective rears, they decided to unload on him daily. Good luck to the next sucker who takes this job if he doesn't both bend over for the former Fulmer players, and also win almost every game convincingly.

Ever hear of Wade Houston? Seems like he was about 4-20 his last year, and lost to Kentucky about 102-40 or something.

I am saying that there is a lot of money in sports. I would think that a college football coach has a heck of a lot more work, worry, and has to endure a lot more abuse than a backup catcher for the same money.
