That was purely the Cowboys crap secondary. I don't feel safe going into any fourth quarter with less than a three score lead.

Eli is a good QB, firmly on the borderline with that elite group but not quite there.

Cutler over Schaub, easily, in my eyes. I think Schaub is overrated. Bears are like 0-4 without Cutler and Texans are like 3-0 without Schaub.

Cutler is really underrated. I don't think he's top five, but he doesn't get the credit he deserves.

Texans have a great defense. And they aren't missing their #1 RB.

If the hullabaloo that happened when Manning said he was an elite quarterback was any indication, there is still some question as to whether he belongs in the elite category.




But should there be any doubt that Manning belongs in highest echelon of passers?

Just look at some of his achievements this year:



• His 4,933 yards are the sixth-most in a season in NFL history.



• He set the record for the most touchdown passes in the fourth quarter in one season (15).



• He had the second-highest passer rating in the fourth quarter (110.0).



• He had six fourth-quarter comebacks, including one at New England that ended Tom Brady's NFL record 31-game home win streak and the Patriots' 20-game regular-season home win streak.



• His 8.38 yards per attempt (YPA) mark was the third-best in the league for quarterbacks with at least 500 pass attempts. To get some perspective on this, consider that he was slightly ahead of the much more heralded Drew Brees in this area.



These totals don't just say elite -- they are the types of notable items one puts on a Hall of Fame résumé right next to the Super Bowl win and Super Bowl MVP trophy.

Possibly, but Indy's performance this year, I think, further went to solidify his position among the all time great QBs. He IS that team, and unlike Marino, did lead them to a Lombardi trophy, albeit the one season they had a healthy Bob Sanders and some semblance of a complete team. The year Eli won the Superbowl, they had lots of talent all around and an amazing defensive line.

I voted no. The upper echelon consists of Rodgers, Brady, and Peyton, with a second tier having Brees, Rivers, Eli, Schaub, Big Ben, Stafford, and any others that I missed. There are quite a few in that second tier, but there is a huge gap IMO between the best and the rest (Brees is close, I think).

Eli ain't in the same league as Rivers, Schaub, and Stafford.

I think if he somehow manages to win another ring, then he should be considered elite.

While Eli has much to thank his defense for, and doesn't put up the gaudy numbers like some guys, he is pretty clutch. With two rings I think he now deserves to be called elite.
