Is It Common to Have a RS Freshman As the Holder?

I always prefer when the punter can be the holder. It's another opportunity for him to be aware of the ball's "feel" as the game progresses (esp. important in rain or cold) and more "practice" handling game-situation nerves.

AND you don't have to take up valuable practice time for other position players.

Could not find it again, but Coach E went out of his way to share his athleticism and speed, even SAID he could probably be a WR and may have the third strongest arm on the team. I am guessing he will be called on in an early game that is well in hand to run a fake or two to create doubt and keep defenders in safe mode to limit rerurn blocking down fiield. Watched a bit of ARF games during recent insomnia episodes and the requirement to secure balls batted, pitched or kicked on the run and then kick it on the run with either foot could really be an asset. I have hated playing against teams with aussie kickers. I will be watching with interest to check out the risk/reward of this decision.

I was considering putting my entire life savings on Tennessee to win a Natty, but now that I've found out the holder is a RS Freshman...

And does anyone think that it could be slight cause for concern?
Tennessee Punter Jackson Ross asked how he prepared for his first college football game:
“yea, I really don’t know what to expect. I might throw a touchdown, I might kick a touchdown, I honestly don’t know what to expect.”

Well as much extensive, anguish-laden thought as I have given to this in past, I have to say....I don't know.
So, now that I have seen the guy play, now I want to talk about the punter. This guy is a triple threat punter if he can do better with his leg. Everyone talks about his arm, but imagine a fake punt/throw and run play 😂
