Are people extremely deluded into thinking we are a “bad” football team.. We’ve only lost 1 game. College football this year is rivaling the 2007 chaos year and we have ONE loss. Are there improvements to be made? Absolutely. The last 2 games we left 21-28 points off the board because of execution. I’m seeing fans just trash every player and coach already and it’s pretty damn frustrating. I hate to say it, but it’s just plain ungrateful considering where we were just 3 years ago.

I don’t know, maybe I’m just gullible. I see potential for this team to get clicking and we see some real greatness.

There is no such thing as a bad 7-1 football team but there is always room for improvement. I think this team has what it takes to make strides to become a very good to great team.

We aren’t a bad football team but we haven’t been a consistent team either. Lately it seems like we are off in some areas, we fix that and then the next week we are off in others.

If we can just get everyone on the same page then we could really see some great football.

For now it’s just frustrating

Maybe I just got unlucky and saw the wrong posts on X. It felt like I was in an alternate timeline. People saying the only good thing on this team is our defensive line. A bunch of nonsense.

I know it . I wish we'd chill with the whack a mole routine and just curb stomp somebody.

This team is frustrating to watch because they are so close to being elite. There have been so many plays where the timing or execution is just a hair off. I was hoping to see domination tonight. We didn’t get that, but I definitely saw improvement in several spots. Nico played his best game yet. That was great to see. I also don’t think we had an offensive penalty in the 2nd half.

I think way too many freak out.

BUT

If I’m fair, I think a lot of the frustration is that all of us can see how close at times this offense and therefore entire team, is to becoming as good or better than anyone in the country this year. They just can’t seem to put it all together…yet anyway but I’m still hopeful

Not bad, terribly inconsistent. That's almost as bad as being bad. We have to fix our offense, and quick

I'm hoping Miss State is when our Offense finally syncs

We have a very bad OL...well not a championship OL. It's keeping opponents around as is all the WR drops. Thank God for the defense...they might give us a chance. Big game coming up to make that happen.

We‘re not bad but I don’t think we’re really a playoff caliber team. Of course we won’t turn it down if we get invited but I take great satisfaction in our wins over Bama and Florida. And if we can somehow muster a win against Georgia I’d be more excited about having beat the evil three in the same season than making the playoffs

We are so close to being a great team but its soooooo frustrating to watch us squander opportunity after opportunity when we could be blowing out teams instead of keeping it close.

SEC is a hard place this year for everyone though. Even Vandy can take your lunch money this year.

Not bad for sure. Yet often sloppy with penalties especially at inopportune times. But I love to watch them when they’re clicking on all cylinders! Go Vols!

I hadn’t seen many claims we are bad.
I see many more believing we’re all of a sudden gonna be magnificent .
Leaving 21-28 off the board for 4 or 5 consecutive games is not a “good” sign.
The Defense has been very good,
And the offense underperformed once again.
It’s starting to look like they are what they are!

You gotta be careful looking at posts during the game, or game threads in general.. a lot of ppl use social media just to complain and that’s the worst time for it 😂

I keep telling people "if they put it all together." Problem is they haven't.

Every week there's a thread on here talking about "feels like a breakout game for the offense." We're 8 games in y'all. This is who we are. We're good enough to find ways to win close games, and I'm not complaining, but the reality is:

- We're undisciplined. Over 100 yards of critical penalties almost every game.
- The offense cannot get out of its own way. Dropped balls, turnovers, patchy o-line play, and some pretty putrid play calling at times.
- Defense holds, but showed some seriously troubling stuff tonight against a miserably bad UK offense. Scrambling around before the ball is snapped, out of position, tackling, etc.
- Field goals are now a big ask, and that's going to hurt in these defensive games when our offense stalls in the red zone 50%+ of the time.

Georgia can roll us if we play like we did tonight down there. And I hate to say it, but Vanderbilt can beat us too. Absolutely have to lock in and tighten that stuff up. It's all fixable, but we don't seem to be able to fix it. A lot of the issues above have stayed the same, some have even become more prominent.
