We‘re not bad but I don’t think we’re really a playoff caliber team. Of course we won’t turn it down if we get invited but I take great satisfaction in our wins over Bama and Florida. And if we can somehow muster a win against Georgia I’d be more excited about having beat the evil three in the same season than making the playoffs

Their close calls were the first two weeks of the season and Ohio state. But I still don’t think they’re head and shoulders better than everyone else but they probably have played the best ball out of anyone lately. I really think there’s several teams that could win the natty this year and yes we are one of them.

Are people extremely deluded into thinking we are a “bad” football team.. We’ve only lost 1 game. College football this year is rivaling the 2007 chaos year and we have ONE loss. Are there improvements to be made? Absolutely. The last 2 games we left 21-28 points off the board because of execution. I’m seeing fans just trash every player and coach already and it’s pretty damn frustrating. I hate to say it, but it’s just plain ungrateful considering where we were just 3 years ago.

I don’t know, maybe I’m just gullible. I see potential for this team to get clicking and we see some real greatness.

It is not delusion. Some of the members of this site are just never satisfied. We are 7-1 and just had a nearly 100 year old record beaten. It has been 8 straight games of holding the opposition to under 20 points, but I am sure there was constant defensive player/coach bashing. Still couldn't deal with being live on here, but I am sure it was constant bashing of Nico. He threw for nearly 300 yards and would have had more had an perfect throw for a TD dropped. The mildcats ended up with that very long bus ride back home.

Because those were early season road games. If you think Georgia will be the same team at home in mid-November vs a top 10 team with the SEC title on the line that they were on September 14th, I have beachfront property in Tullahoma to sell you. We aren’t winning that game.

And if you’re any team, do you have the same level of intensity and focus gearing up to play a mid-major who draws 10,000 fans a game or your in-state arch rival at home on Senior Day, with a chance to make a national statement?

C’mon man, be smarter. Nick Saban isn’t patroling our sideline.

We haven’t looked as good as we did Aug 31st. It works both ways.

Since we put up huge offensive numbers in 2022, everyone thinks we’re supposed to do that every year. Which, is asinine! This year, we have a very talented team that is pretty young in some key positions on offense, & we have a very strong, very deep (thanks to the way Heup & Banks have been building the last several years) defense. It may not always be pretty, but we are a very good football team!

We have a very bad OL...well not a championship OL. It's keeping opponents around as is all the WR drops. Thank God for the defense...they might give us a chance. Big game coming up to make that happen.

We have very average receivers, using .001 of the playbook, AND a below average OL.

The Vols are a very good team with the potential to be great. Great has not happened yet. A lot of fans know the team can be great. They are just frustrated that it has not yet come together.

We have bad position groups. Fortunately we also have very good position groups that have been able to offset the bad but we are playing with fire every week. It burned us against Arky and most likely will again against GA. I think at this point it's safe to say we are what we are on offense. I dont see it getting significantly better in the last 4 games.

The slow starts are troubling. The penalties, dropped balls , crap playcalling has all contributed to that. Going too catch up to them at some point.
