Give me a UT shirt, a clipboard and the status of asst. speacial teams coach, and I will get Nash Nance and Martaze Jackson signed.

I call BS on Nance.

He's a smart guy who we pulled from a prestigious school.

This was no small feat. And I truly believe Chaney when he says he wanted him from the beginning.

I mean lets think about it. kiffin really wasint the one hitting the pavement. if he didint have orgeron and his daddy's rep then he wouldint have pulled much. he also had a whole staff and alot more time b4 NSD.

now look at dooley. the man is basicly doing it by himself with lance thompson and chaney. and he is holding a recruiting class together and adding quality talent and could keep us in the top 10.

THATs why i say SO FAR i think dooley is going to turn out to be a better recruiter.

All I am saying is that in every thing I have read about him....all he needed was an offer...it could have been delivered by Stephen Hawking and it wouldn't have mattered...he was intrigued by UT from the very beginning.

He did:no:

CDD is doing a fine job holding on to talent. I am a little worried about Copeland and Williams (previous staff) but also CDD's own commit Loften...

Not yet in the league of the former staff, but that may be a good thing...
how long has he been on the job? the last coach had from nov until nsd. this guy is doing great.

Could it be more so that some of the new recruits liked UT before, but were turned off by K****n, and now that he is gone, they are reconsidering us?

this is possible but they still wouldn commit unless the didn like dooley, his staff, or his plans for the future plus he their parents also play a role in this so give credit where credit is due!!

Looking at Kiffin's 2009 class, he had 2 five* and 9 four*.

He gets credit for all of those, even though some relationships were in place before he arrived.

Right now CDD gets credit for 4 four* and, if we pull Rogers, 1 five*.

He gets no credit for any of the keepers, even though he may be the reason some/all of them stayed.

Perception-wise, that describes worst case (kiffin getting all the credit, CDD getting none).

If we keep the current list, and add a couple 4*, CDD will blow away Kiffin in any comparison when you think of how and when Kiffin left, and what he did to the incoming coach.

I wouldn't say he gets no credit. Those kids still could have looked elsewhere.

hmm...i believe this remains to be seen...i mean, I could have recruited nance and martaze jackson to UT....but I do like his potential.

And what talent evaluation agency do you head up?

I am happy to have these guys and hopefully they aren't reading SOME of the comments on here.

Oh, I give him credit, definitely.

For the sake of the argument, him getting no credit is worst case scenario. CDD still wins, with a good finish.

You know what you are right...I think everybody's final judgement should come 3 weeks after getting the job. I like the guy I really do....but I am not ready to put a solid gold statue in front of Neyland for him. I personally, at this stage, do not think he is better than Kiffin in regards to recruiting, there is not enough evidence.

I don't pretend I could do his job, he is a far more talented coach than I could be...but I will not claim him rivals recruiter of the year b/c he got a 2* QB to switch over from Vandy.
