Dude was an impact player. Not the first. And certainly not the best ever, or the last on Rocky Top. Fits in well with our tradition of great JUCO players..

From what I've read and listening to the interviews with CBJ, Cody Blanc has been the biggest surprise so far among receivers. The Vols will have a pretty good group of receivers to replace Hunter and Patterson.

Butch Jones says Croom is the second-coming of Willie Gault, Robert Meachem, and Stanley Morgan all rolled into one.

If Croom were the next CP, Dooley would have made use of his talents last season. He certainly has the size and physicality to be a good wr, so I really like his up side. But let's not compare him to a freak phenom athlete. CP was so talented that he is going to be a first round pick at a position he still doesn't really know how to play. I would expect that Croom would have to actually be a polished wr to get drafted.

Croom was injured last year and could not play. Dooley could not have played him if he wanted. My guess is that you don't know very much about Croom or his abilities. He will be a man among boys this year. Why not wait and see him play before you criticize him?

Whatch the Marquez North film I think he will be our best play maker with the ball in his hands. I still say Croom and North will start on the outside

You're giving Dooley too much credit.

No. We won't have another CP for a long long time (neither will anyone else in college football for that matter)

I remember someone saying Heath Shuler was a once-in-a-lifetime QB & we'd never have another one as good as him at Tennessee....ever. Two years later some guy named Manning played for us. Never say never

A little bit of over-love for CP on here. He was exciting to watch and was a great athlete, but a once in a century feak of nature? Come on, lets don't go cra cra.

Uh, lemme think ...... no. Hope he's a beast, better route runner, more polished receiver. But CPs talent is too unique to say someone will be the next "him".

The CROOMSTER has potential that's unreal.

The thing is that he keeps growing and if he eats right, keeps putting on muscle he might become a serious dual threat as a WR and as a TE.

That will make it really hard to keep up with him and to cover him when there's no telling where he might line up next.

I expect great things from the CROOMSTER.

We have some great talent at the WR position even if we're still lacking some depth but that can become a good thing as more of our WR's get playing time and experience in a solid rotation.

WR U is still alive and well and I think some of our guys are going to fool some people over the next couple of years.

VFL...GBO!!!

Once in a century WR, no. Once in a century freak of nature, yes! That kinda size and speed and I can't recall any college player that did the things he did when he had the ball in his hands. Everyone is gonna have their own opinions but I don't think any of us can overrate CP, dude was special!!
