I am not knocking Croom in any way. He is a good young athlete that has the potential to be a very good athlete and make a ton of money playing on Sundays. I am glad he is a Vol.
With that said, I have watched football for 50 years. CP is a very special athlete. His athleticism cannot be taught. I would rank him in the top 10 athletes I have ever saw. He is raw, but his talent level is rare.
Tennessee was called Wide Reciever U for a reason.
Stanley Morgan, Willie Gault, Alvin Harper, Anthony Miller, Carl Pickens, Joey Kent, Marcus Nash, Donte Stallworth, Peerless Price and Robert Meachem.
CP was great but I see several on that list I would take before him at this moment.
Anybody remember Kelly Washington? How did that NFL career go anyway.

Why tf are you such an insufferable wretch? I was complimenting your son... Jackazz.
If Croom were the next CP, Dooley would have made use of his talents last season. He certainly has the size and physicality to be a good wr, so I really like his up side. But let's not compare him to a freak phenom athlete. CP was so talented that he is going to be a first round pick at a position he still doesn't really know how to play. I would expect that Croom would have to actually be a polished wr to get drafted.
First, he wasn't injured in the summer workouts leading up to the season, and he even played in a few games iirc. If he were the next CP, we would have heard about it during those practices and would have seen it in the games he actually played. Second, If you took what I said as criticism, then perhaps you have a reading disability. Just because I think he is not the athletic freak that CP was (which odds are definitely in favor of my stance seeing as how he is the most dynamic player I've seen in a decade) does not mean I think Croom won't end up being just as good or better as an actual receiver. I've said before that I am a fan of his, and that I think he could end up being very good. So quit with the straw man arguments and read the actual words that I type.
I am reading and rereading my previous posts looking for the "backhanded" part of my compliments. Again, I think you are confusing my not saying he is the best ever as me giving him a backhanded compliment. Here it is. I think your son will be dynamite. Period.
I have plenty of positive things to say about you. I think you are a good mother from what I can tell (probably the biggest compliment anyone can give you), you raised a good son, and you are a Vols fan. All positives in my book. I just don't appreciate you always looking for somebody to tear apart any time they disagree with something you say.
Actually, it wasn't a bad career at all. And if you put CP on the same team that KW played on, Patterson would have been the brightest spot on that team. Agreed, all the players you mentioned were better "receivers", but none of them (besides probably Gault) had nearly as much potential due to athleticism that CP has.
It seems you are the one who needs to get things straight. Maybe you can word things so that it is clear what you intend to say. You last sentence was pretty clear. You have no respect for other people and are too self center to realize it. Time for you to show some respect for MZTERRY and her son.
Washington
8 Starts over parts of 9 seasons with 12 TD and 1,500 yards recieving. Kinda Meh I guess for the potential.
Maybe Patterson will blossom and learn to run routes in the NFL or maybe not. Right now Tennessee has produced alot better receivers then he is currently.
Can't believe I left off McGee:angry:
I don't look for folks to rip apart.... it just shows up.... and its not a matter of disagreeing; we can all agree to disagree.... its the disrespect
