After watching his post game presser, he genuinely looks wore down.

Two losses at the last minute has to be painful to watch.

Have you seen the wave of crystal balls coming in for LSU for a pile of four and five star kids for 23, 24 and 25.

The next dynasty could be at LSU.

LSU, Florida, & Georgia are loaded with talent every year.

You’d have to be a complete failure to struggle recruiting to those schools.

Yes! Those three states are prime high school talent.

That is why I continue to be puzzled at Florida's decade of ineptness. You have to really blow some coaching hires to bumble up that recruiting situation. Somehow, they continue to miss miss miss. Even while Miami and Noles continue to be down.

Which of these coaches won a Natty and went out on their own terms (not fired):
Bear Bryant
Gene Stallings
Les Miles
Gene Chizick
Ed Orgeron
Phil Fulmer
Urban Meyer
Woody Hayes

After you answer, remember: You can't win today's games on yesterday's home runs. Saban has earned the right to go out on his own terms if anyone has. But even for the best, the long knives can come out when production slows down. If Bama doesn't get to the SECCG next season, I think the fan base will amplify some of the angst being shown now for this current Bama team.

Florida is one good hire away from being elite again.

Luckily their Administration has continued to shoot themselves in the foot.

I think Alabama goes 9-3 and Nick Saban tells his team and the Sports Media that he's going to retire following Alabama's Bowl Game in the ReliaQuest Bowl,Citrus Bowl or Taxslayer Gator Bowl. ESPN will make a huge production out of Nick Saban's coming retirement and so will CBS. I think Alabama will name their new head football coach in December and i think Nick Saban's successor could be one of these 10+1 head coaches and assistants.

Lane Kiffin Ole Miss
Ryan Day Ohio State
Dabo Swinney Clemson
James Franklin Penn State
Kirby Smart Georgia
Todd Monken Georgia OC
Mike Gundy Oklahoma State
Lance Leipold Kansas
Kevin Wilson Ohio State OC
Freddie Kitchens Senior Analyst South Carolina
Clay Helton Georgia Southern

Ok, I am just playing along. Guessing from memory.

Bear Bryant - quit because Johnny smoked him and was set-up to smoke him for many future years.
Gene Stallings - I can't remember. He may have gone out on his own terms
Les Miles - terminated
Gene Chizick - terminated
Ed Orgeron - terminated
Phil Fulmer - terminated
Urban Meyer - wanted to get away from jort wearing people. pretended to have a health issue.
Woody Hayes - after punching clemson kid, was told to retire or be fired.

Kiffin - 20%

It’s Dabo’s job to lose

I can see that. They want Dabo. Clemson is ready for something new. The stars align for that transition to finally happen.

Nick is too old to get out of the way of incoming players. This morning, bet he has purple ribs. His wife needs to reel him in to the georgia lake.

I read a story a long time ago that said one of the big reasons that Bear Bryant decided to retire was that his players listened to the assistant coaches but didn't listen to him any more. He told a writer of the Birmingham paper that halfway through the 1982 season. It also didn't help that Alabama finished 1982 2-4 after starting 5-0.

Dabo i think would win 9-10 games a season but the Alabama fans would-will turn on him for not winning enough and he would be gone in probably 4 seasons.

He was very old. I feel the same issue is happening with Saban. He spent a lot of time Saturday night screaming at player's on the bench. You could tell from their facial expressions that they were tuning him out.

It is really difficult for a 70 year old person to communicate with a 20 year old individual. Huge age gap...

LSU has an impressive QB line-up for for the next 3 recruiting classes. Something they've never truly excelled at save for one or two. The '24 recruit bumped up from the '25 class and committed to LSU over Bama and several other SEC and P5 offers.

Dabo is a Bammer at heart so it wouldn’t surprise me to see him jump at the opportunity to coach his alma mater.

He’ll recruit well enough to be a Playoff Contender every year but the question is, will he win National Titles?

It’ll be interesting during the off season if Saban decides to hang it up.

THen that's on the 20 year old. When a 70 year old that arguably develops more players to the pros than anyone else, and has put away more titles and been totally unstoppable for 15 years or more, yells at you for making mistakes you listen. Saban has proven time and again he has earned the right to yell as he sees fit.

Don't disagree. But, did you see them? They were looking away from him. Tone deaf

There’s less than a 0% chance Kirby is ever the HC at Bama. Bama has NOTHING that UGA doesn’t, he’s at home, he can win just as easily at UGA and the pressure is less (definitely now so with what Saban accomplished).

Could be hit or miss. As far as Clemson football, Dabo has created their own dynasty of sorts. They have ruled the conference and snatched a couple Natty's. May not be worth the trip home to endure being the one to follow Saban. Stallings was hte only coach at Bam to be able to follow Bear until Nick showed up.

I think Nick Saban may have lost this team and that may be evident if Alabama stumbles to a loss to Ole Miss knocking them out of the New Years Six Bowl Games.
