Massengill would be great for the guards and Lipscomb isn't competing on the pay would be up to Coach Harper. Personally I think that the girl already on the staff that was an Assistant at Mo. State is in the running as well.
If an opening happens, we had better hire a good recruiter. It’s becoming more common but I’d hire an AAU coach who is well connected... I love Rennia Davis AAU coach and she has worked with other good players besides Rennia.
If you want someone who would be connected around that Florida area and in the know with AAU recruiting circles she seems like a good hire. Not saying she is even thinking that route but she has had a good program and probably knows how to be on par with the players...
Any chance Darth can go? I’m tired of his constant downing of anything Lady Vols. If you aren’t going to support them, go elsewhere.
If that’s the case i wonder would Ariel Massengale return to rocky top to replace who ever leaves....
I'd personally rather see a more experienced member of the LV family (if we are trying to get a former LV) over her, like Tasha Butts at GT or Niya Butts at KY. Keep in mind that Kellie and Niya played together. Ariel has only been an assistant for two years, and it's not been in a major conference, at that. Personally I wish we'd go after a proven recruiter. That's the most glaring weakness with this staff.
Who would you like to see Kellie go after ?
Shannon Perry at UCLA, Sytia Messer at Baylor, Beth Cunningham at Duke (formerly ND), Elena Lovato at Texas (formerly MSST), and Chelsea Newton (Georgia).
Some of those are pipe dreams, though.
Also, Joy Cheek had proven herself to be a good recruiter at Duke and Ohio State. I believe she's at Clemson now.
Just reading back through Coach Jumper's posts over a stretch of several years, it is compelling to say there probably isn't a more ardent fan for UT Lady Basketball than he. If for nothing more than that he deserves a serious interview if in fact there is a vacancy. More than that his abilities found both mental and physically in his notes and observations show an extremely high aptitude for what is needed for UT Lady Vols basketball meet much higher standards. His past employment work ethic in numerous fields a plus for him. He knows the meaning of hard work and high goals to be successful. If he were making recruitment pleas to top ranked recruits it would
be coming straight from the heart. He has done studies of improving player techniques and there are few players that wouldn't benefit from that knowledge.
