Is one of our Assistant coaches leaving?

Since you've gone back and changed your post, I'll add this.

Size doesn't matter in your example. No one is going to force themself onto the coaching staff or into an official position. Just not going to happen and it's mind-boggling anyone would think they can.

Because you forced yourself into the lives of past players and families, while I have no inside information, IMHO there is not a world in this galaxy where a coaching staff would not have evaluated your contributions to determine if you provided anything special and to ensure the team is not threatened. I think if you could have provided anything they needed, you would have got a call.

You are certainly local (now), apparently desperate, and will probably come real cheap because of your resume. I just don't see it happening at Tennessee.

Maybe you should consider trying to get a real coaching job then, after building a successful track record, you could work yourself up to a college coaching position if that is what you want. If you have the time and financial security, it's a path that has a future.

I have forced nothing. The conversations and invites I get from recruits and parents are in no way forced, as if they could be. Rickster, this hero worship that turn into resentment is cute. First you steal my game thread, then you try to clone my predictions and now you follow me relentlessly.

I love it...Carry on

I stole nothing. I might have cloned your predictions but it was only satirical feedback on how you make such a production of yourself. I was doing it hopefully so you could see just how silly your magnanimous behavior is. I didn't't take into account how deep your delusions are. My apologies. I probably hurt your feelings if you have any. As far as the game thread goes, I was doing the game thread before you.

Anyway, you're boring me now so....

No one wearing clothes as you do Coach Jumper would have a D1 job, much less a Power 5 D1 job. No looks and style aren't everything. But to me you come off as creepy. Sure that could change if we ever meet in person, but from reading your posts and seeing your pictures I just don't have a good vibe from you.

I hope the staff remains intact but I also respect the right for coaches to take career decisions. It's a tough fact but when you have great coaches, it's inevitable people come after them.

guys, I am not living in a rose-tinted world....Hiring someone like myself would bury Coach K.

All I have ever wanted or asked for is a look. Several players, each year, including this year approach me as a summer coach option. That is the opportunity I ask for...To go from where I am to walking the sidelines with the staff, though it does not intimidate me in the least, would be professional suicide for the coach....But to give me the opportunity to show I can improve a player who has asked for me, is quite another thing.

This is all I ask for.
  • I can give Tamari a much better inside game, Sky-hook, reverse pivot fade away
  • I can give JH a midrange game
  • I can make Rae more effective by teaching her how to look for contact and use it to aid in her attacks
  • I can brings drills that soften those "frying pan hands" for catching passes
  • I can help all of them to make more of those missed bunnies
  • I bring shooting drills to the table that no coach has in the repertoire bc they are developed by me, such as "bang bang" a drill where the players can shoot as much as a "shot a second" at game speed and no shots from within the paint....Speed drills, accuracy drills, timed drills, etc
  • I can aid in efficiency in lateral movement and defensive techniques
No, I'm not going to go immediately from here to TBS' floor,,,not in this lifetime.
I mean,,,seriously !.?

Coach, your thread is loaded with pearls of wisdom....The top 3 you listed, if successfully completed, would help the Lady Vols become the team we all dream of...

If Tamari had a stronger inside game, her self confidence would soar like a high flying eagle...She would be a difference maker on offense too.

If Horston could become a more consistent mid range scorer, she would not look to pass so often, thus lessening the turnovers...

If Rae would do like every other top guard in the league, and propel herself into her defender, she would be good for another 8-10 more free throw points a game...

You need to send a letter to Coach Kellie, at season's end, and let her know you could be of help...She could probably not make you an assistant coach, but she may be able to make you some form of consultant, like Al brown was/ or still is...Once aboard, anything can happen.

Remember the immortal words of Roy "Tin Cup" McAvoy ...."Greatness courts failure"...
You've got the talent son, don't be afraid to use it...A lot of us believe in you.

Very few of us are blessed with perfect features. No I am not covergirl material...But I have met several posters from this site and they have yet to be creeped out by me in person. In fact I sit with a long time beloved poster nearly every game...Thank you for pointing out that I am not beautiful. I hope you are.

GT, I will make an attempt to meet with Coach K this month and try to bury the uncertainties that surround us. She has never met me, but very briefly before a game, so she has no concept of who I am, except by the fearful person who told her of me. Probably Phil Fulmer, who is fact never met me either, nor accepted an offer from me to meet with him. I know I have been harder on coaches (than on players) on this site, and that is by design....I coach. What I also know is basketball, and more precisely how to improve players.

I thank you, @JFP and others who support and back me as a coaching influence GT. It is people like you all, who keep me coming to this site. I as well thank my adversaries, glv, nut, ricky and 376,, it is people like them who make me even more determined to prove myself. The only one I don't thank is the one that starts with a D and posts negatively and rudely about our kids and coaches...He can go straight to UCONN.

Keep standing with me GT, I will make you proud for doing so.
Love you Bro,
Coach J

You’re just a fan like the rest of us. No better, no worse. You bring a lot of good to this board but you also bring a lot of ego.

UT has no interest in you as a coach. You know that deep down inside. We all know that. Attempting to contact Kellie repeatedly is likely going to get you banned from games for life. Mark my words. You don’t come across as being professional or particularly well put together. Just from your posts on here it’s apparent that you’re very sensitive and easy to rattle, not exactly Kellie’s type.

To my knowledge you’ve never done any coaching beyond some AAU and skills training. No? A P5 college basketball coach resume that does not make. I respect how much you love the Lady Vols and basketball, but tone it down a bit with the “they need me,” rhetoric.

a little ego is often needed, as it forces the wearer to back their words with actions.
Appreciate your words, but am not swayed.

Just reading back through Coach Jumper's posts over a stretch of several years, it is compelling to say there probably isn't a more ardent fan for UT Lady Basketball than he. If for nothing more than that he deserves a serious interview if in fact there is a vacancy. More than that his abilities found both mental and physically in his notes and observations show an extremely high aptitude for what is needed for UT Lady Vols basketball meet much higher standards. His past employment work ethic in numerous fields a plus for him. He knows the meaning of hard work and high goals to be successful. If he were making recruitment pleas to top ranked recruits it would
be coming straight from the heart. He has done studies of improving player techniques and there are few players that wouldn't benefit from that knowledge.

Hahahahaha, was this written with a straight face? No offense to Coach Jumper but this is hilarious.

I enjoy meeting new people, and would gladly come say hi next time I attend a game. Don't judge a book by it's cover is what I was taught growing up. Even though what I posted above doesn't ring true to that.

It's all about them,,,not me

Coach, this picture brings back memories of being a basketball shoot barker at a carnival in the early 90's....A girl I met club dancing worked at a carnival playing the town, and before I knew it, I was working there too...She was one of the midway harem dancers, so the job had it's pluses...

The goal/rim is somewhat higher than the standard 10 feet we are all use too..... Instead, they are set at, or around, 12 feet high...This was in part to hide the fact the rims are not completely round, more oval shaped...Also, the higher rims eliminate any muscle memory the player may have in shooting a basketball...Add in the over inflated balls and background distractions, it's easy to see the game is heavily stacked in the carnival's favor.

My standard hook em line was, "got a ball, need a ball player, one or more, shoot till you miss..".....I was good at shooting the high arc needed to make the shot....After all, I had all day to practice the shot at the high rims...Plus, I used a slightly underinflated ball that I kept with me, not for public use...

I've often though, if a player practiced shooting at a high 12 foot rim for awhile, they would learn the value of the high arc, which expands the circumference of the hole...Then, shooting a standard 10 foot rim, would be so much easier...

Million Dollar Idea......Put a secondary rim, about 2 feet higher than the standard rim.....Have your students shoot at the 12 footer for awhile, then remove the 12 footer, and have them shoot the standard 10 footer again...I guarantee you they will have become far better shooters than they were before this exercise....

Coach, the above post idea may be your ticket to the big time....You could use one of the portable rims as the 12 footer high rim, then go and use the standard 10 footer...

I still can't wrap my head around why the best female basketball coach (just ask him) in the universe hasn't been snatched up by a top D1 school. Why is he still coaching little girls for 39 years?

first of all, HS is not little girls, they are in fact young ladies,,,just ask them!

secondly, ever watch the voice, or American Idol...lots of stories out there of people born to do something who never got the chance to do what they were called to do...I have approached CHW and she dismissed me due directly to my posting on this site. I will again approach Coach Kellie this week, via her office admin,,,we'll see.

Understand folks, I know I am not the panacea to this org,,,I simply want to not be blocked from the players who want to request me.

And, no I am knot the best coach in the universe,
not yet.
;o)
But you can bet your bottom dollar, that my goal is to be one of them
