Is Saturday the Biggest Game in 23 years?

What does Hype need to do to get this team ready to play from
the opening kickoff ?
They seem to sleep walk through the first quarter, and this KO
will be 11am Knoxville time.

I don’t see how it’s any bigger than 2022 SC as it’s basically the same scenario. Win and you’re in the playoff. I could argue 2022 SC was bigger as you get in a 4 team playoff and you just have to win 2 to win it all. In this format we would have to win 4.

I'm just thankful it's a noon game. We'll find out quickly instead of having to wait until 7:45 or whatever. Sure would be nice to jump out to a fast start for once and put them away early...

No. It's not even the biggest game this year. It's just another season ending Vandy game.
I don't get people saying this game is bigger than the Georgia game, just two weeks ago.

If we had won that game, it would also have (effectively) secured a playoff spot. Plus we would have beaten GA in their own stadium, not Vanderbilt.

It’s Vandy. We know it’s Vandy, but with everything on the line, I can’t remember a bigger game since a December 2001 game in Atlanta . We don’t need to go down that rabbit hole of horror, but this seems like this is the biggest and best opportunity we’ve had in a long time . USCjr in 2022 is also in the discussion.

What say you guys and girls?

Lmao no.

It's like the 2001 gane against LSU. Win and you play for the National Title. This will hurt much worse if we lose.

The biggest game was just a couple weeks ago at Georgia. If we had won that we would be on our way to Atlanta.

Vanderbilt will NEVER be the biggest game on the schedule for us. It will ALWAYS be the biggest game on Vanderbilt’s schedule. It’s just a business as usual for us.

I’m just glad it’s a late morning game. UT always seems to play better in a noon start. There’s something about a night game (see USC jr. in 2022) that is dangerous for games like this.

If winning means we get into the playoffs and losing means we don’t, it’s in the conversation. I would say the same thing no matter who the opponent was given the circumstances.

I think we are lucky we got Vandy late. Bama really thought it'd be a cakewalk, even Saban saying it's the only non threatening place to play stoked it up. Heupel has much film to watch on this one. If we played them week 2, I think we could have been just as surprised as Bama. Sort of like those old stories of the Russian Army in World War II, where they didn't issue guns to the second or third waves. They were supposed to pick up the guns of the fallen and win the battle. Thank you Bama for being in the first wave.
