I still want to think of SC on the Mizzou and Vandy level, but first Kentucky (yes, with a backup qb) and now a&m? Like the majority on here I thought SC would struggle to become bowl eligible this season and Beamer was in over his head. Are we to the point we now need to view SC on the level of Florida and Kentucky? At some point you are what your record says you are I guess? Still hard to view the cocks as a legit threat for me.

UT will throttle them like redheaded stepchildren.

A&M is a dumpster fire. They can't even fire Fisher unless they want to cough up an absurd amount of cash.
UK is exactly what they appear to be. Pretty solid team that will not be able to cover Tennessee's receivers, and will likely struggle to run the ball against the Vols.
As for South Carolina, I fully expect it to look like last year's game.

Watched some to most of A&M vs SC. Basically A&M spotted them 21 points they got 17 in first Q. Kick off TD & then a comedy of A&M errors. SC is not as good as their record but I think if you get on them early they will lose their mojo. They had about 90 total yards at half but were leading Rattler was 12/25 for 168 yards with interception and fumble minus rushing yards for the game.he was way over hyped cool last name about it. Look at them when they played UGA that is the Gamecocks,

I was concerned when I saw the schedule. If we got through the nest of the schedule, my concern was that ending with SC, MO and Vandy would be taken too lightly. That’s ok with MO and Vandy( hopefully) but at SC can be a tough place to play. This team has shown an ability to refocus each week, but that one will be tougher than many believe. I think they play Clemson the following week so they may be focused that direction, but winning that game isn’t a gimme.

How is that a tough place to play? The team is bad and they weren't even sold out last night

Beamer hilariously calling it the best environment in the country didn't make it true

Beamer has those guys coached up. They play with a ton of passion and effort. That’s definitely a potential stumbling block on this season.

I watched some of that game too. IMHO A&M has a good defense but otherwise they are just bad - anemic offense, poor special teams, and just overall undisciplined. Seems Ike Jimbo has cashed in and tuned out.

Beamer sure showed a lot passion against us last year ... while getting blown off the field. We have one regular season game left that we could lose. It's all about UGA.

USCe and Kentucky occupy the same tier in the East.

The Wildcats (and Levis) have gotten an unusual and undeserved amount of media love this season, particularly in the pre-season. That's a head-scratcher. I don't know why. Maybe the UK boosters walked around slipping $100 bills into the hands of media writers at ESPN and SI back in June.

For whatever reason, they were given the hype and USCe was left mostly out in the cold. But those two teams are on the same tier.

On our schedule, the tiers break down like this:

-- Bama and UGa are big challenges (yes, Bama still is...we may face them again and they are still Bama)
-- Florida, LSU, and Pitt were peer competitors (Pitt has imploded a bit since then; some teams get worse as the season progresses)
-- Kentucky and USCe are a half-step below peers, but not complete pushovers
-- Mizzou and Vandy are door mats with a couple of sharp teeth you have to be aware of as you step on them
-- then the 3 cupcakes

It was that way before the season started. It's that way today. It'll be that way as we wrap up our 13-0 victory in Atlanta (fingers crossed!).

Don't let the media hype fool you. USCe and Kentucky are both minor challenges.

Go Vols!

S Carolina has great special teams and if we limit those explosive plays it won't be that close. Beamer will have them fired up........... but Ken-Turkey first.
