Is SC not going to be a beat down?

A repeat of that would be great. So, we can claim last year’s result??
They allowed 44 points to Arkansas and 48 to Georgia. That isn't the kind of team that is going to be competitive with Tennessee.

Look at who they have beaten :

@ Kentucky
Texas A&M
Georgia State
Charlotte
South Carolina State

You sure are giving them a lot of credit for this.

I will add against Kys backup who is nowhere near the skill level of Levis

I still want to think of SC on the Mizzou and Vandy level, but first Kentucky (yes, with a backup qb) and now a&m? Like the majority on here I thought SC would struggle to become bowl eligible this season and Beamer was in over his head. Are we to the point we now need to view SC on the level of Florida and Kentucky? At some point you are what your record says you are I guess? Still hard to view the cocks as a legit threat for me.

That game was some of the worst football I’ve seen all year. We should manhandle USC, even with their substantial home field advantage. 🤣

They're benefitting from a ridiculously easy schedule and a key injury. The teams with a pulse beat them down
Yep…
There’s a reason they refer to the back of their schedule every year as the “orange crush”.

It’s surprising to me though that, so far, they’re not more dynamic with Spencer Rattler at QB.

Beamer is a better coach than he’s been given credit for. I think we beat South Carolina, but I don’t think they’ll be a pushover.
is he really or is aTm that dysfunctional? Don’t forget aTm wins if USCjr doesn’t get a kick return to open. The defense looks ok but the offense is hot garbage and Rattler still sucks. Beamer could have ended the last minute aTm drive drama by kicking a field goal on 4th and short from short yardage to go up 12, but he elected not to. That decision put aTm at risk of winning the game and I’m struggling to see how that wasn’t a bad coaching decision. Combine that with the Butch Jones antics and I can’t take him seriously yet as a coach. Part of that problem might be he’s over-exposed with the Beamer-ball love the media gives him. I’ll change my mind if he pulls an upset vs us or Clemson. I’ll also give him credit for getting a bowl and probably 7 wins.

SC is opportunistic and at home should definitely not be thought of as a pushover, that said SC has seen no one close to our Offense and their own Offense is pretty pathetic most of the time.

We’re likely going to finish 7-5. We haven’t beaten any quality opponents even though we have a top 5 SOS. All of the remaining teams on our schedule are much better than us.

alot of worries for nothing.it will take #1 a good to elite offense and #2 a elite defense to even come close to us, and with whats left on the schdl only 1 checks those boxes the rest are no where close even on a off day.also we have already seen the best offense we will face till post season ,chill out .and GO VOLS !!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm seeing an incredible amount of fan resentment towards Tennessee on the message board forums of 2nd tier SEC programs such as South Carolina, Kentucky, Ole Miss and Arkansas right now, and I think some of it is seeping into VolNation - in troll form.

The argument that "Tennessee hasn't played anybody," is one of the dumbest narratives I've ever seen and it's everywhere. That can only be attributed to jealousy.

Well..., you're not on the team, so.... Seriously, this is the SEC, you get too self-assured or a bit lax, you can end up with reddened bottom, and a bloody nose. Fortunately, Josh seems to have our team focused on what they need to be, one opponent at a time. And during the game, EXECUTE, by whichever definition you want to use. Some fans need to get it through their heads that just because we're winning now doesn't make us invincible. Even Iron Man got his booty handed to him periodically.

Beamer sure showed a lot passion against us last year ... while getting blown off the field. We have one regular season game left that we could lose. It's all about UGA.
Sure, and we got stomped by Bama, Florida and UGA. His team turned it around and won as many games last year as we did.

What we see here is comparative discinance. The East is getting stronger and is stronger than the west. USCjr, UF, UT are better AND getting better. LSU is the ONLY west team improving. Alaboohoos game against State is not a good test. If you watched that game, you see how bad State is and how long it took Bama to put them away! Our best game against their best game is a win for us 10 outta 10 times.

It’s starting to feel like old times again.

In reality if a team punts to us they are beat, if we get a turnover they are beat, we dont punt and you can count the possessions if the opposing team punts or coughs up the ball they are toast, most teams will shoot themselves in the foot at least two or three times with the exception of teams like Alabama and Georgia, they are our only competition if we keep playing at the level we are now.

South Carolina is a classic trap game.

Definition of a trap game: It is a situation where if we come in and play the way we are supposed to, we will win. However, if we have a let down and they play very well (you need both to occur), it could be interesting.
