Is SC not going to be a beat down?

The only team we have left one the schedule that has the potential to hold us under 50 is Georgia and that’s no guarantee. I feel like this offense has just scratched the surface of the potential they have. We have Tillman coming back who is one of the best wr in the country. Hyatt is blowing up Bru is a big target who could be a number one anywhere else. We have a nice 1-2 punch in Small and Wright and the wow what do you even say about the emergence of Fant. He just adds a whole new level to this offense.

Beamer’s luck is absolutely incredible. It first manifested against Auburn in a game they were about to lose, which would’ve eliminated them from bowl eligibility, but Auburn muffs the punt. So they get to go to the Mayonnaise Bowl and pound their chest for beating a 6-6 UNC team.

Now this season, they get to face two superior teams in Kentucky and A&M without their starting QBs and being gifted 7 or more points by the other team within the first 5 minutes of the game. They are not a good team and will be lucky to win 8 games.

South Carolina is a classic trap game.

Definition of a trap game: It is a situation where if we come in and play the way we are supposed to, we will win. However, if we have a let down and they play very well (you need both to occur), it could be interesting.
Maybe, but a few said the same about yesterday’s game and we were up 52-7 at halftime. CJH will have the team focused and ready to play. SCar will lose and fail to cover the spread in this one. If we start strong, we will break their will when we go up 21-0.

UT Martin had no hope lol. Anyone that said that about UT Martin is silly.

In order for South Carolina to win, Spencer Rattler would have to look like the 5 star QB that people billed him up to be at Oklahoma.

I think we win the game hands down as you are stating but there is a scenario out there where they could upset us.

A trap game, to me, is almost as you describe, but the key difference is it is a game that is usually between or before rivalry/tough games. A team looks ahead to the next week, enters the trap game unprepared and lackadaisical, which results in a loss. South Carolina is between Mizzou and Vandy. South Carolina is better than both teams. It is not a trap game imo.

South Carolina won a game were they got out-gained by 112 yards, and scored 30 points despite not even having 300 total yards. They had a 100 yard kickoff return, and two turnovers where they had the ball inside the 10 yardline each time. It was 17-0 before A&M even showed up. SC is not good, not even close, but they did manage to win two games where they had no business winning. As it turns out, both of those teams are using their backup QB and are fairly enept on offense.

not buying trap games this team plays with the mentality that no one can beat them and it shows !!!! and with CAPTAIN HOOK at the helm there will be no fairy tale endings for the likes of ky,sc,vndy,mz GO VOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!

A&M has a really really good chance to finish out their year 5-7. I’m not impressed by USC’s win. People were looking at their top 10 preseason ranking and $500 million draft class as of that meant anything. The results are speaking for themselves.
They are poorly coached, and have some guys who were over-hyped coming out of high school. I'm glad that p*cker-snot QB Haynes King didn't come here.

It’s oddly louder than you think and Sandstorm really sucks.

It is definitely an underrated environment and tough place to play, but a little more often than not, Tennessee wins there in the end. We are 10-7-2 in Columbia and almost every game Tennessee loses, it seems, comes down to the final drive of the game.

Some fans may not have confidence in winning every game but thankfully they don’t suit up to play.

Our coaches and players are in a win one game at a time mindset and make improvements from game to game and I don’t see that deviating as the season progresses. Nobody on the schedule is going to get overlooked or underestimated.

Good grief Majors was so right.🤦‍♀️

It’s crazy how many one score games we’ve played in this series. It’s one of the best games that annually nobody cares about.

I still want to think of SC on the Mizzou and Vandy level, but first Kentucky (yes, with a backup qb) and now a&m? Like the majority on here I thought SC would struggle to become bowl eligible this season and Beamer was in over his head. Are we to the point we now need to view SC on the level of Florida and Kentucky? At some point you are what your record says you are I guess? Still hard to view the cocks as a legit threat for me.
Lol they are awful on offense and we will crush them.

I was concerned when I saw the schedule. If we got through the nest of the schedule, my concern was that ending with SC, MO and Vandy would be taken too lightly. That’s ok with MO and Vandy( hopefully) but at SC can be a tough place to play. This team has shown an ability to refocus each week, but that one will be tougher than many believe. I think they play Clemson the following week so they may be focused that direction, but winning that game isn’t a gimme.

Willy B is nothing compared to playing in Death Valley. The gamecocks will get deep fried.

Hooker is not going to have a let down game he is going Pro and he is locked in. The offense goes with Hooker

South Carolina scored 30 points last night and 17 of them were literally handed to them on a silver platter in the first 7 minutes of the game. They did absolutely nothing last night. If TAMU didn’t piss down their own leg, the Cocks don’t win that game.

I’m not worried about them.

Games I am worried about in order are Georgia, South Carolina, Kentucky, Missouri, and Vanderbilt. SC is far better than last season and are playing at home. They have improved from where they were early in the season, but so have we. Will they be able to contain Tillman, Hyatt, McCoy, Keyton, and Squirrel that is what the game comes down to.

My biggest fear of any opponent this season is our CBs cant cover bread with mayonnaise. Thats our only true weakness right now.

Better show up with your "A" game against Kentucky and South Carolina or either could win. Especially at SC. They'll be juiced for the game of the year there.

I think there is an outside chance the boosters get the scratch together to oust Jimbo if misses a bowl this year.
