I question where the line is crossed to become "trespassing" when referencing a government owned building. If we are, as Lincoln said, a "government of the people, by the people, for the people", should citizens not have access to the Capitol? Should they not have the ability to make their opinions known to the people elected to represent them? Anyone who engaged in violence, or property destruction, obviously steeped over a line, but is merely being there enough to constitute a crime? IMO, no. Anyone who entered and engaged in peaceful protest should not be prosecuted. Those who committed acts of violence or vandalism should be prosecuted. But the whole thing has been blown out of proportion for political reasons.
That building has been invaded and the site of numerous breaches by protestors. I'd take the pearl clutching more seriously had this been an issue for them in prior instances.well there's theory and ought but there's also the law. you can't just wander in. whether or not that's what the law should be is a different issue
Should the individual offices within the building have controlled and limited access?I question where the line is crossed to become "trespassing" when referencing a government owned building. lol.....Do you not think that is even more true of Fox's and the rest of right wing media's coverage of BLM protests....which were by far and away mostly peaceful.
The average BLM protest had less lawbreaking and less property damage than the Jan. 6th protest/riot.
Ken Burns Calls Ron DeSantis and Tucker Carlson 'Huge Threat to Our Republic'
There have been a lot of bad takes. But perhaps one of the worst came from documentary filmmaker Ken Burns, the guy known for his history documentaries. Now I must admit to having watched some of his work, including on the Civil War and the history of baseball, and enjoying it. If you liked his work and thought he sounded knowledgeable, you may want to adjust your opinion after this. It’s a terrible thing to lose one’s mind to leftism.

‘Opposed To Any Accountability’: Ted Cruz Says FBI Won’t Answer Questions About Role In Capitol Riot
Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz criticized the FBI on Wednesday for failing to answer his questions about whether the bureau played a role in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.
He spoke on his podcast, “Verdict with Ted Cruz,” about the Capitol riot footage released by Fox News Host and Daily Caller co-founder Tucker Carlson on his podcast. Cruz discussed the FBI’s potential role in the Capitol riot and allegations that Ray Epps, a prominent Capitol rioter, was an informant for the bureau.
