Is the HONEYMOON over?

Simple answer... Next year

Anyone who can't handle giving a coach 3 years, is completely and utterly ignorant.

And anyone who expects better then .500 with our schedule, and with how bad our roster was at the point CBJ and Co. took over is completely and Utterly retarded.

If anyone has a even halfway decent argument on why we should expect anything more, please enlighten us.

No.. we are Tennessee is not a valid argument. And neither is... I am tired of losing

When do real expectations for this team begin? When is a .500 season no longer acceptable? Lot of teams are young, but find a way to win. Lots of teams have students who graduate, but find a way to win. Lots of teams have mediocre QBs, but find a way to win.

Lots of teams do not have all of them at one time.. along with a host of other issues.

There are No!!! teams that are comparable to what UT has been through and then won on a high level in the SEC...

Just stop with the retardation and accept the fact that we have one more year of mediocre on the highway to spectacular.

AND FOR GOD'S SAKE... STOP ACTING LIKE SOME KIND OF VICTIM.

you watch games on tv, you have not been on the field pouring your heart out for your school only to be criticized and ridiculed by ungrateful fans who think they DESERVE better.

Kinda confused Import. In one post you say "and with how bad our roster was" so I'm taking it that you think our roster is better but our players used to suc. In the next post you say this "you have not been on the field pouring your heart out for your school only to be criticized and ridiculed by ungrateful fans".

Gotta say that sounds pretty hypocritical.

btw...count me in your "completely and Utterly retarded" crowd. I have faith in this team and coaches to better a .500 record....unless you're talking the sec. 4-4 is what I expect there.

I'm a Butch Jones fan, love what he's doing off the field, still pretty excited he's our head coach, even though I wasn't overly impressed with how our team looked last year, our poor/slow roster not withstanding. But I'll say this, if we go to Oklahoma and do anything remotely similar to what we did last year at Oregon when we gave up 59 unanswered points....I'll pretty much consider the "honeymoon" over.

This. At some point you have to stop the bleeding to show you can win and be competitive against the teams with talented rosters.

What if you stop making blanket excuses?

What if you stop using grade school insults like "retard," that any actual adult knows is pointless and offensive?

What if you stop pretending that coaches should be paid handsomely and no one should expect them to make any major strides for 3 years?

What if you stop pretending that UT has some uniquely demanding fanbase that expects better than 4 FBS wins a year?

What if you stop pretending that Butch inherited a worse situation than James Franklin or Hugh Freeze?

James Franklin and Hugh Freeze never had to play a top 5 hardest schedule in the country either.

Do you honestly think Franklin would have had a 9-4 season at Vandy playing our schedule ?

I am just saying that our situation is different.

According to Sagarin, Ole Miss' SOS last year was #9 & UT's was 10.

UT isn't the only school that plays a tough schedule. If you play in the SEC W you, no doubt, play a tougher conference schedule than the East teams do.

As far as Vandy, last year's conference SOS was very similar to UT's. Before the season, I'd say Vandy's looked tougher in that Vandy played Ole Miss and UT played Auburn. Bama and aTm were a wash as neither Vandy or UT were going to beat Bama or aTm.

So you're really talking about 2 games...Oregon & Auburn. Other than that, they were pretty similar.
