Is there anyway we can still get in the tourny?

...we contended for the SEC regular season title the whole way,

I'm impressed with the way this team bounced back from the slow start but WTF are you saying in that we contended for the regular season title? We were 6 games back!

There is a small slight chance we get in...but we need A TON of help...i.e. ALL of the favorites have to win out CONVINCINGLY,...in reality though, we going to the NIT, which is fine. Cuonzo has done an AWESOME job this season with this bunch of guys...we contended for the SEC regular season title the whole way, not bad for a team that most said would be in the lower bottom half this year...good job guys!!!

So a long shot.

I'll bet you anything this team will make the NIT if they don't go to the dance.

There's no way they don't he a NIT invite. Sorry to burst your negavol bubble.

You couldn't burst a zit. I said they will probably make it but you were to quick to just over react again and post more BS than actually read a post.

This team lost to Ol Miss that everyone including you prior to last night just thought we would roll right on by and into the NCAAs. Well we won't run into girl's schools in the NIT either. Home or away, we will struggle to win many in that tourney when you shoot 28% for a game. Think the next school won't play the same basic way Ol Miss did? We have severe weaknesses on this team.

Exactly you said probably will which means you're saying there's a chance we miss the NIT....sorry no chance we miss it.

Show me where I said we would roll through ole miss last night...

I'll wait.....

Kentucky and Vandy on the road were the only games this season that didn't go down to the wire. We are a couple of bad breaks away from having a MUCH better record. As far as losses and RPI goes, this team isn't in. But you can't honestly tell me Tennessee isn't better than these other bubble teams getting consideration. If moral victories counted we would be a 1 or 2 seed in the NCAA's.

CBS had our rpi as 84 during their Michigan st - Wisconsin game

It's not being a negavol to tell the truth. You can forget being in the tourny with a rpi of 84 since nobody has ever gotten in with an rpi that high at least not an at large bid.

Bleedin' Orange:

Your post Frdiay nite on another thread (Ol' Miss Game Thread) :

"I think many are still doubters, 1 more win tonight and I see the band wagon over flowing!"

You sure sounded pretty cocky that UT would roll right over Ol' Miss. Didn't happen.

Um don't think so...

I think many rational people took that as me saying with a win tonight this is what would happen.

I didn't say we would win or roll through anyone, that's saying if we win I expect the bandwagon to overflow.

Reading comprehension?

And prior to UNM(?) nobody had made it in with a 73RPI. And that was a 64 team field not 68 like it now is.

The committee has said they will use kenpom, which we are rate high in, more than they will RPI.

I'm not saying we get a bid, but to say that there is 0 chance simply isn't true.

As I've shown now a bunch today, the most accurate bracketologist still has us in. Take it up with him, he does it for a living, and is the best at it.

I don't think I've ever seen an 18-14 at large team. It'd be great, but enjoy the NIT considering the outlook for Tennessee basketball at the beginning of the season and how well coach has had the team play this season.

What difference does it make? Unless he was on the court last night he can be as confident as he pleases.

IIRC USC was 19-14 last year fwiw, I know it's one more W but close I suppose.

One more and according to computers 2 more wins since Chaminade isnt recognized.

Very true.

Although I think the committee measures quality of wins more than amount IMO.

I believe our resume with USC last year is VERY comparable, except the RPI which the committee is stating will use kenpom more than RPI.

Ive never heard of this kenpom, i am going to google it thanks? And someone actually has spoken from the committee? I always thought they were in witness protection program in a bomb shelter hidden away till teams bracket is released.
