You seem like a racist. If you jokingly say racist things to your friends YOU ARE A RACIST.
No, you aren't. If you say racist things in effort to hurt someone or discriminate against someone - then you are a racist. If you say something in humor to someone who you know will interpret it in good humor then it really is just a joke between friends. Ever seen "Brian's Song" about Gale Sayers and Brian Piccolo? Do you think Piccolo (Caan) was being a racist when he called Sayers (Williams) "watermelon" and made jokes involving old black stereotypes? If so, you really are uptight.

Okay buddy. I'm pretty sure saying only elite white people should have guns is a racist statement. I guess you're right though, if you're going to say racist stuff, dont put it on social media. Just keep that racism to yourself.
It wasn’t “social media”. It was a TEXT.

If you’re mocking racism, you’re not. We’re a fragile society nowadays with the wrong people making the rules. You need to watch what you say, because true racism is designed to reduce fellow humans. But it also requires HATE and INTENT to be genuine.

It seems some people are looking for a "racist loophole" where they can say racist things and jokes in private and that's okay as long as it's not documented in writing or video. So who is the real you? The one saying racist things in private, or the one when other people are watching?

Racist jokes aren’t funny, even between “friends.” They perpetuate stereotypes and normalize racist acts. Stick to knock knock jokes. 😀
They do perpetuate stereotypes. They almost always involve an old stereotype. I don't think they normalize any racist action. Most people can differentiate between words and actions.

Depends on whether we’re being realistic or virtue signaling. Realistically, I doubt a vulgar joke sent privately to a friend will cause anything to happen. If ppl are trying to show their wokeness then it’s the end of the world and start of a klan meeting. I honestly bet the girl that leaked it was praying that Fromm would go early in the draft so she could hold it over his head. Unfortunately NFL gm’s determined that Fromm was more of a product of his surrounding talent than individual talent.

That text message chain was from March of 2019. Who saves text messages for 14 months like that? I think you're right. She realized that he had said something that she could use for leverage later. Regardless of how you feel about what Fromm wrote, it's hard to believe that her motives behind making those texts public were pure.

Only thing I'll add is that stereotypes are typically based in truth... regardless of race, religion, political affiliation, age, anything really. They can be harmful, but mostly accurate.
