Is this the beginning of...

I remember there was a thread about a guy taking his minutes. Then he played in an espn game shortly after and he played almost the entire game.

So he didn't get benched? That never happened?

Because there was something on the board about him getting benched. I remember that.

No not that I know of. He missed a game due to injury, other than that he's gotten the majority of PG minutes for HP. And like I said, that's over 2 highly rated guys.

I distincly remember people discussing Landry struggling and getting benched. I wouldn't have read it or heard it anywhere else.

There it is Jerry. Our memory proves true! We're not crazy after all! :salute:

Well I'm kinda crazy, but I knew I had seen that on here before. I like how people that posted in that thread, said in this one it never happened. Lol

Did you all even read the article? Where in that article does it say that Landry lost his starting spot?

Grandstaff (the guy who the OP is inferring took Landry's minutes) didn't beat out Landry for the starting spot. Infact, Landry was still starting and getting good minutes that Grandstaff has since transferred BACK to Texas.

Okay, so he didn't lose his starting spot, he had some of his minutes taken away. Semantics. That's almost as bad anyway.

Excuses. That's all we hear now.

You realize that the SEC is terrible? UT deserves better. I'm not ashamed to want more from our coach and team.

Y'all say one player doesn't make or break a team, but when adversity hits, y'all use a player being out as an excuse for Martin's lack of coaching.

Bto, I don't forget much, and I recall you questioning Landry and his play in some fashion.

I've questioned his ability many times...but I don't recall claiming he had been benched.

In the link where that article was originally posted I even said in that thread...maybe he was injured. People just assumed that article said things...NOWHERE in that article did it say Landry lost his starting spot and/or lost minutes.

Where in the article does it say he lost minutes?

Isn't it sort of inferred? With the mention of the Grandstaff kid and the breakout performance by XRM, can't it be assumed?

I could be wrong.

But no, it never directly said it, nor did you. My mistake.

We said it was discussed on this board about his minutes. And it was, you all said it wasnt even discussed.

Honestly, would it matter all that much if he didn't start for his high school team? They aren't your average HS team. I watched him play on ESPN and he would play for this UT team simply because he can dribble.

It's all good I was just trying to clear it up. The thread that the article was linked in kind of had a misleading title as well.

It's MY understanding that Landry has started every game for HP in which he has been healthy. As I stated above, Grandstaff which is who that article mentions transferred to HP during the season. Landry was still starting and getting big minutes and now Grandstaff has transferred BACK to Texas...fwiw.

Now...maybe there was a game in which the coach felt the need to cut his minutes or start someone else, I'm not aware of it but maybe. Or maybe the we're beating up on a team and the coach sat him along with wiggins and the other starters for the 2nd half, I don't know.

It just annoys me because it has spread like wildfire on this board somehow that Landry has been benched and lost his minutes and that's simply not true.

Sad but true. Lopez got a crack at it, have to figure Landry would too.

You do realize we're playing without two All-SEC players right now right? Take away two All-SEC players from the other teams and see how well they're playing right now.

Your right but this is still a god awful coached team. Guys look lost on the court at many times.
