Is Tiger Woods a racist or just a pathological liar??

What is the deal about all of this golf stuff. The dear administrator ran Honda, runs the Song of the South University and now is a Senior Tour PGA pro?

You're wrong. His agent serves a purpose.

No, I was right. His agent negotiated the terms of the deals. Those companies came after Tiger. His agent didn't have to go out and market him, Nike took care of that for him

I would say it is more likely his wife and kids were with him at tournaments because they liked being with him at tournaments. I would be surprised if anyone told Tiger, "hey, you need to take your wife and kids with you so it will make a good impression".

Stick to the stock market. At least you know a little something about that

you are right because starting on a div 3 golf team in college clearly makes you more of an expert on the business of golf than i am. no athlete has ever been told by his agent that he needs to look like a family man to get endorsements. it's only about their ability. that's why ray lewis and peyton manning make the same amount of money.

I "started" for a Division I team. I now work for a university that is Division III.

I didn't say no athlete has been told to look like a family man. damn man, is there ever going to be a time you don't put words in my mouth? What is so funny about it is that usually you have no idea what you are talking about. The chances are Tiger and his family made the decision for them to accompany him to some tournaments BECAUSE, lots of wives and kids travel with their touring pro fathers. They love it. It is fun for them. I don't know how many tour players YOU KNOW, but the ones I know like having their wife and kids around with them, especially in the summer when the kids are out of school. Golfers are a different breed than athletes from other sports. First, it's an individual game and there is no team to rely on, travel with, eat with, etc..

The only similarity between Ray Lewis, Peyton Manning and Tiger is the fact they are professional athletes.

Nevermind. I am not going to argue anymore about this with someone who has no clue.

While you toil away at your office, I am leaving mine for the golf course.

good day sir

Ok, so the dear administrator ran Honda, Runs Song of the South Unveristy, was a division 1 golf star and has both a pga and senior pga tour card?

I wonder if he has had lunch with Obama?

and there is no chance that his agent said to him "carry the kid to the green jacket presentation, it will look great."

do you really think a guy this obsessed with tail wanted his family around during tournaments?

enjoy your meaningless game in the middle of nowhere, while i enjoy making 5 times your salary, while working an extra hour a day than you, while living in the greatest city on earth.

I wouldn't. I know for a fact that Nike controls essentially everything Tiger wears in public, and specifically during all golf tournaments. They are great at public relations, and with the exception (imo) of the most recent Tiger commercial using his dead father's voice, they have done an exceptional job of promoting Tiger as a brand. There was actually a fairly large anti-Tiger sentiment in the early part of his career when he came out with the Amex "I am Tiger" commercials. Nike softened his image at the right time and continues to be a primary decision maker relative to what, when, how, where anything regarding Tiger.

I can't say that they "required" his wife and kids show up at tournamtents, but I certainly wouldn't be surprised by any influence they use. Nike wasn't even in the golf business pre-Tiger so his brand (image) is extremely important to them.

san diego is a great town, but a lot more backward than Los angeles (may not seem that way to the non residents though). i'd put it pretty high up there though.

a lot less going on when it comes to food, culture, etc. i'm not huge into intellectual snobbery, but all else equal. . .

For us plebes........ define backward.......

If you had to rank counties in Southern California it would go Orange, San Diego and then LA.

LA is too spreadout and too many tools. Obviously some great parts.

I grew up in Long Beach and moved to Orange county in elementary school, but my dad was always in LBC.

San Diego is nice, but the beaches aren't as nice as OC for me.

A couple things:

cypress is in orange county and most la county people wouldn't even have noticed. Especially in the 80s.

I love when people who have probably never been to California try and act like they understand the state.

Secondly, the golf announcers were all over choi's nuts until the three putt.

Then you didn't watch the same tournament I did, Choi got very little live coverage until the back nine when he was several strokes ahead of Tiger.

Don't know who you are talking about but I have visited California on numerous occasions and have lived and worked in the Los Angeles area. (the valley)

I do admit I fail to understand people who continue to vote for the likes of Boxer and Pelosi or why they even voted for them the first time.

orange county is pretty amazing. no question. but it definetly does not have less tools than LA county.

Funny that you are the only one saying that about Choi. He got as much, if not more, coverage than anyone not named Tiger or Phil. I watched every day of the tournament both online and TV and Choi got a heckuva lot of play and I'm not even a Choi fan.

It seems that your recall on this seems to be lacking. Not a huge surprise being that you generally see what you want to see rather than reality.

She exposed herself when she tried to dress down a man in uniform showing her the proper term of respect in that situation. All but the extreme fringe on the left saw that for what it was.

if tiger wasn't considered an angelic athlete who the hell was? or do you really think he made $100 mil a year in endorsements because he is a great golfer?

He was a very private person (apparently for good reason), but never considered the perfect role model. For years people have complained about his behavior on the course. Screaming obscenities and throwing clubs around doesn't strike me as the behavior the 'perfect athlete' would exhibit. Let's face it, Tiger was never the poster boy for being the perfect role model. He was just a really, really good golfer. That is why he got the endorsements. Sure it didn't hurt that stayed out of trouble, but staying out of trouble does not correlate into being this flawless being. Did Tiger control his image? Yes. Did he misrepresent himself to the public? No, being such a private person I would say his public perception was purely what the public decided to believe about him. He never went around saying what a great husband/father he was, so you can't say he lead the public on. I had never heard the media tell how pure Tiger was supposed to have been until the 'incident.' People get their panties in a wad about all the wrong things these days.

Priceless. Just so you know, I knew from the moment I got out of college I wasn't tour material. You made several posts last year stating your desire to play the senior tour. I am not considering that route even though my chances would be a hell of a lot better than yours. Unlike you, I am not delusional about my game. I knew I wasn't good enough. And, smartazz, I didn't start working for a university until four years ago.

BTW, on one of my bad days and one of your good days, your game MIGHT be equal

You speak authoritatively about crap that is your opinion, then speak about my golf game, about which you know nothing. You're sad.

I've talked about the senior tour once. You've told us you're the beat in a fifty mile radius once. One of those has a prayer of being correct. The other is just stupidity.

He will tell you in a heart beat where he works. It is the source of his wisdom.
The source of his golf expertise is playing college golf back at a time when high schools had to beg to get enough kids to fill a team and if you could break 78 you could get a scholly at any low level D1 school.
