Is tonight the night?

If the Patriots continue to play like they have the last two weeks, the Steelers will not only beat them, but beat them convincingly.

Or if the Ravens wouldn't continue to kill themselves with foolish penalties.

The penalties were after it was effectively over, after a courageous performance by their defense. The Patriots lose that game without that time out or without the subsequent lucky false start.

Were you watching the same game I was? They had two critical holding calls that kept the Patriots alive (one being on 4th and 6 on the game-winning drive).

The word you used was "foolish." That holding call on 4th and 6 was not especially blatant and it happened on a receiver who was otherwise probably going to be wide open in the end zone, so yeah, it's easy to see why he made contact with the guy. That hardly rises to the level of "foolish."

The Patriots should have lost. When they make their championship rings, they should put a picture of Brian Billick right underneath the "19-0," because if he doesn't call that timeout tonight, his defense gets the hugely gutsy stop they deserved.

The title of this thread reminds me of a Saved by the Bell episode where Jesse wigs out on caffeine pills.

Bart Scott made a mistake. Instead of the penalty flag, he should have thrown th back judge into the stands.

There was no reason to hold Watson on that play. If you watch the replay again, three Raven defenders were surrounding him in the endzone. Benjamin had no chance.

Rex Ryan was the one who called timeout, not Billick.

Benjamin was in well front of the two guys who were behind him in the endzone. He was certainly running free enough for Brady to get him the ball. Regardless, it was still a weak call to make at that point in the game.

And I forgot Ryan was the one who called timeout. Whatever; he'll look just as good on the side of the Patriots' championship rings.

Benjamin was not going to be wide open on that play if he had not been held. Could he have caught it? Yes.

But it would have been one heck of a play by him and Brady. More than likely it would have resulted in a turnover on downs.

It makes me sick watching the Patriots play two weeks in a row. Watching the other team choke away opportunity after opportunity. That TD was the single luckiest drive in NFL history I think.

i hate the ravens.

but after watching the set of events that occurred on that possession, i really felt bad for them. it was apparent that they had played their butts off, and a set of circumstances, caused by their coach, the refs and themselves had it all unravelling in the waining minutes.

brutal if your a ravens fan or player. i didn't stay up to watch SC, but i can only imagine what the players had to say about all that.

I dont hate the ravens but I am not a fan either. I was hoping the would win vs the patriots. I like the patriots even less than I do the ravens.
It was clear after that last touchdown by the pats the ravens had just lost it.
