Looks like the "dehumanizing" claim originated from this person, who is extremely pro-Israel, and it looks like it actually was about that one tweet. Seems like he's trying to bring about the "serious backlash" himself

When people are talking about boycotting your film because one actress is Israeli and an outspoken supporter of Israel, is that the time to post “free Palestine” in the movie trailer comments?

So the “context” is that Gal Gadot is getting heat for supporting a genocide, which is the same situation that has existed for her for almost a year now. Seems like you did make up the “missing context” idea

Hang on a second though. I may be missing some into, I'm just going to put the situation and details together as I'm aware here. Tell me if I'm wrong or missing something.

Gadot has voiced support for Israel.... So she's pro Israeli. And thus is supporting the genocide of Palestinians?

I've read through some of her statements and I really didn't see anything controversial. She has stated Israel and Palestinians deserve to live free and safe from violence.

Has she said something else I'm missing?

Setting aside her being in the IDF herself, she’s spread plenty of Zionist propaganda justifying the continued “war” including screening some of it in LA

So serving in the IDF in the past makes you a supporter of genocide? That's a HUGE stretch, especially considering it's compelled service.

She screened, or wanted to screen footage of the Oct 7th attacks that the perpetrators filmed themselves........

How is that supporting genocide? You're typically a reasonable guy.

What Zionist propaganda has she spread?

Even the articles I've seen critical of her posts and actions don't support the claims she's supported genocide. It's mainly randos on social media.

Bearing Witness is 100% propaganda; it’s a film produced and released by the IDF.

But the more I reflected on what I saw onscreen and heard from the speakers before the screening, the more I’ve come to realize I have concerns about the strategic purpose of “Bearing” and what the IDF might do with this footage in the future.

It’s going to be seen as propaganda aimed at justifying Israel’s polarizing military incursion in Gaza, a counterstrike against the pro-Palestinian movement gaining momentum around the world. I haven't seen it. Is anything in it factually untrue? Did the events happen as laid out on the video? Truth is sometimes called propaganda, that's why I'm asking these questions.

Now, that aside propaganda is simply something that's used to further an agenda. Could we also say a film showing Palestinians injured and dead is propaganda?

The point is Gadot has repeatedly said both sides deserve to live in peace free of violence. Yet she's been branded a supporter of genocide. It's like calling anyone who has openly supported Palestinians supporters of Israeli murder.

The writer you cited here worried if the movie could be used as justification. There was much more said, it's truth.... What happened. And even more they pulled punches, not showing people burned alive, babies abused etc, because it was "too much"( My words).

It's no more or less propaganda than the social media posts with actors and real life scenarios with injured and dead Palestinian bodies. Both happened.

You've still yet to lay out an instance where Gadot has supported the genocide of Palestinians.

In fact you've only called into question those making the claim, I've seen nothing to indicate she supports anything other than her Israeli brothers and sisters. Same as countless Palestinians do daily with no call-out for supporting the murder of Israelis.

There just isn't enough for someone to make the that claim in good faith..... Unless there is something I haven't heard about.

No celebrity is going to say anything like the below, but screening propaganda videos produced by a military actively committing a genocide and running cover for them more than maybe any other celebrity (I said celebrity, Michael Rapaport) is going to get you that label

Everyone who has lived in Israel has been in the IDF 😂 it is mandatory.. my kids babysitter when they were little had been in the IDF.. it’s not some ‘wow, omg’ thing.. they require everyone to do it because they are constantly bombarded by all directions on a daily basis.. it takes all hands on deck
