That’s typically not what comes to mind when someone says “ethnic cleansing”, imo. Insinuates an outright killing off of all people of a certain group. And I don’t think that’s what Trump is advocating.

“Killing off all the people of a certain group” is good old fashioned genocide - how most people understand it at least.

“Ethnic Cleansing” is clearing a region of a certain people. You don’t have to kill them, just remove them.

If by hook or by crook, when all this is done, there are no more Gazans in Gaza - it’ll be something…

I get what your saying, but are they not mostly synonymous? Loosely speaking, we could say they are. People sure weren’t being relocated in the Balkan war. Straight up ethnic cleansing by death.

Ethnic Cleansing can include killing on a mass scale.

-Kill a 1/3 outright
-Bus a 1/3 out
-Last 1/3 flees the area on their own

You have “ethnically cleansed” an area.

All genocide is ethnic cleansing.
Not all ethnic cleansing is genocide.

Nor is all ethnic cleansing a bad thing. The people throwing the around loosely right now are the same people who would low to see all of Israel cleansed and left to the people of Gaza and the WB

The Palestinians would it seems.

They’re a bunch warm softies these days. It used to be kill every Jew in all the world, now they just want them eradicated from the region and Israel destroyed.

Just don’t send them in through Jordan. Getting a couple hundred in through that security might take a thousand years by itself.

Ethnic cleansing is what cast Jews throughout Europe and the ME. Been happening in that part if the world since the dawn of humanity.

What's the best thing for the Palestinian people?

These are tough questions.

Is the Palestinians being moved to Egypt, Jordan or Syria the best possibly outcome to an impossible, insanely complicated situation? An very good case can certainly be made objectively.

It’s not a good outcome for the other countries tho. At least for Egypt, their economy has already been suffering from the refugees they’ve allowed in from Gaza, Sudan and Syria.

And unless they do extremeeeee vetting you risk Hamas crossing the border Which would be terrible for both Israel and Egypt. Sisi has done a good job of getting rid of the Islamic extremism

No it isn't. They get a radicalized and highly tribal problem.

The Palestinian people have been used as pawns for decades. No one can/wants to take them on.

Hopefully after all this outside forces will stop funding terrorism but that’s definitely too much to ask

The problem is they have nothing to return to either. The best solution imo is to finish off what’s left of Hamas (not sure how that isn’t done yet) and see if the surrounding countries will form some sort of treaty/agreement to watch over and stop extremism while Gaza gets rebuilt. If that doesn’t happen IRGC will just send in another one of their proxies to take control. And if Hamas doesn’t get completely finished they’re just gonna take control of the aid (like they’re doing rn) and rebuild until they can attack Israel again

A strong radicalized group in Gaza isn’t good for Gazans, Israel or Egypt. Not sure why some think it is
