Israel vs Palestinians

Slice, are you familiar or have any knowledge on how Jews view martyrdom (if there are any views at all). If such views exist, do you have any insight on what the Torah (or any teachings) says is proper, or acceptable, martyrdom?
Martyrdom is in defense of your family or friends. It’s not blowing yourself up and killing innocent children or setting yourself on fire.

John 15:13 is actually a near direct quote from Talmud
Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. ”

Is there consideration for martyrdom when one does not convert away from Judaism even at the risk of death?

We are not a conversion people. If you want to leave then leave. And likewise if you can leave out of fear were you really His people. Our belief is that any G-d worthy of your devotion should be sought. G-d is not so fragile that He chases after you. He does not want your forced devotion. Psalms 119 is clear in how you approach the G-d of AI and J. Anything beyond seeking the most high in love is worthless before the eyes of Hashem.

Hope that answers your question

It helps, yes. Is this idea of "Kiddush Hashem"...Jews aren't encouraged to be martyrs and can leave the faith if they so choose, but are considered martyrs if they do not convert at the cost of their life?

I would say that’s accurate.
We don’t spend a whole lot of time worrying about the “afterlife “ we’re aware of who G-d is because we’ve sought him out. Our refusal to reject the most high is more because of refusal to serve a false narrative or belief than it is for rewards in the hear after.

I’m sure you’ve heard me referring to fairytale christianity. That’s hard for some people to understand coming from a person who believes that the person they call Jesus is the Messiah. I just have a way different understanding of what that means.

Thank you. It helps with my understanding.

Both are dark and deliberate and deplorable. One is being done on a much larger scale.
The narrative that Israel is deliberately bombing babies the way Palestinians deliberately stole babies notwithstanding…

I’m guessing the Palestinians would have happily kidnapped and murdered more - if they could have.

Who is actually saying it's "deliberate"? Isn't it enough if it's not deliberate? You are entirely consumed with what you perceive as the motives of the players and you ignore what the actual results are. A dead baby is a dead baby. Thousands of dead babies is worse than dozens of dead babies.

Obviously the way we end up at the results matters. If a group of people attack you and then hide behind their own children, should they receive immunity?

Just crying about dead kids without acknowledging the context is laughable.

The more I read this, the funnier it gets.

“Many of us like to ask ourselves, what would I do if I were alive during slavery”

The idea of this loser walking up to a plantation, igniting himself, while slaves and slave owners look at him confused, and then the irony of slaves having to clean up his ashes afterwards….such a useful person we lost

How does someone that mentally unstable get in the AF and actually stay in? There had to be numerous signs.
