Like you, it's hard for me to reconcile this stuff, but I'm not willing to call a Jewish-American "wicked" for siding with Israel on this. Maybe he is, but I'm not saying that.

In the particular instance I was responding to, he was mocking an American (Aaron Bushnell), not an Israeli or a Jew.

Based on what? North Korea has gulags and concentration camps. Homosexuals are tossed off rooftops in various countries in the Middle East. Freedom of speech and press more prevalent here than most other countries in the world.

By what standard are we the "most wicked on the planet"? And why do you want to live here and be a part of it?

How many millions has the US killed in unwarranted wars between Korea and today? How many millions have been displaced and/or turned into refugees during that time?

And again, do I need to say this again? Had the Israelis targeted Hamas and those responsible for Oct 7th, then there wouldn't be much for most people to reasonably argue about. But to go after civilians in the manner that they are, telling the Gazans to evacuate towards Rafah in the South, to only then turn around and bomb in the South and the IDF using aid trucks like a hunter throwing corn out to bait a deer is where the outrage is.

Fair enough, but given the circumstances, how could they target Hamas to the degree to ensure that Hamas never attacks them again (and not harm any civilians)?

It certainly looks like the IDF's main goal is not elimination of hamas but elimination of Gaza. Meanwhile they and the settlers are raising Cain in the WB.

I am fine with that but I could make the argument that this is a SPORTS Message Board for Tennessee Volunteer fans and alumni. If he doesn't fit into the Tennessee Volunteer fan or alumni grouping, there is an argument he can go somewhere else.

Even the Political Forum itself is kind of dubious but to be fair, Ras and this forum do give the forum life during the offseason when you don't have a lot of sports items to talk about.

No. That's what Hamas has proposed. Israel hasn't given any indication it wants a peace deal. It has proposed a temporary cease fire. Not an ending of hostilities.

I think the two of you are set up to misunderstand each other this. Seems like you go off results and disregard intent to some degree (not saying it's right/wrong) and when somebody thinks "wicked," they generally put a lot of weight on intent. We didn't mean to create 100 refugees, so it's not as wicked as intentionally creating 50 refugees.
