It’s Already Started…

It's going to be bad. They weren't great against aTm. And we did have a couple calls go our way.
BUT for everyone saying "some calls go for ypu and some go against you" just think, if they call those PI early in the game, then maybe the face mask call they missed on the final drive probably doesn't matter anyway. Just saying

But I guarantee we get hosed on some calls.

In four home games, the Bammers were penalized 2 times (MTSU), 10 times (Texas), 6 times (Ole Miss), and 5 times (Arkansas). They also got flagged 11 times in last year's Tennessee game. Our speed created penalties. Interesting to see if that speed causes the same number of penalties this year in their own house.

Also, Tennessee's strength is the run game, so if we get called for multiple holding fouls early in the game - we'll know what's up.

Only problem is that the speed is not the same as last year. So your second point is probably more salient.

I don’t think there is a personal vendetta against UT by the refs, but the consistency of missed calls that would favor UT is odd this season, especially the ignored PI’s.

Bama is the king of getting away with holding on the OLine and grabbing by the secondary, regardless of opponent. If they call it on UT, it is expected that they call it on Bama, but not likely.

If Alabama is the king of getting away with holding on the o-line and yet they've still allowed 31 sacks(126th in the country) they might be the worst pass blocking offensive line in history.

I think Milroe has the same problem as Joe, holds the ball too long.

Yeah, if they start throwing flags early because we're running on them, then we're in for a long game I'm afraid.

Yeah man, the refs are against Tennessee.

It's why they suck in every game Tennessee isn't apart of too.

Perhaps it's just because A. they're not very good and B. officiating a game played at this speed is hard?

Hmm..

Nah, must be that they hate Tennessee.
The refs have been unusually awful this year in every game across the board. It’s ridiculous to think this is the best they can do.

There needs to be some sort of public accountability for the refs.

Yeah, but those PI's took about 100 yds. off of our passing game.

Well I hope the averages start evening out because while we have been fortunate on a few calls we have been on the wrong end of bad calls more than we have been on the good end so far. That’s a fact! GBO!

They need to be able to review pass interference in power 5. I am all for letting the CB play tight especially looking at and making a play for the ball. But you cannot mug the guy or pin the receivers arms down where he can’t bring them up. And you can’t allow them to grab shirts. GBO

First off most bammers cant read and second there is no way , no way , that you can honestly say we've gotten a fair whistle this year.
They have been inconsistent. I will say that. Glad they missed that facemask on us against aTm, or else there's a good chance we lose.
