It’s Already Started…

IMG_20231021_093306807.jpgThis typifies Alabama games. Cody takes helmet off before play is over and no call. It should have been a 15 yard penalty and a non timed down for a kick to win.

They have been inconsistent. I will say that. Glad they missed that facemask on us against aTm, or else there's a good chance we lose.
I agree with the inconsistent. Tennessee has had calls go against them or blatantly missed in every game. Yes calls were and are missed on both sides but the ratio of missed calls has been 4 to 1 against Tennessee.
They kept Austin Peay in the game.

I don't know what crew they have but I do hope they can call a hold or a PI. Last weeks missed calls was pathetic.

It's very rare you walk into a game more worried about the Refs than the opposing team.

I don’t think there is a personal vendetta against UT by the refs, but the consistency of missed calls that would favor UT is odd this season, especially the ignored PI’s.

Bama is the king of getting away with holding on the OLine and grabbing by the secondary, regardless of opponent. If they call it on UT, it is expected that they call it on Bama, but not likely.

Dude, I've never seen a season like this. I know I'm biased but it's weird in every game, even the 3 scrub games just had repeated head scratchers. Officiating is dang hard, but crap balances out in most games. Not this year for us IMO.

In four home games, the Bammers were penalized 2 times (MTSU), 10 times (Texas), 6 times (Ole Miss), and 5 times (Arkansas). They also got flagged 11 times in last year's Tennessee game. Our speed created penalties. Interesting to see if that speed causes the same number of penalties this year in their own house.

Also, Tennessee's strength is the run game, so if we get called for multiple holding fouls early in the game - we'll know what's up.
Well Bama got called for one penality for 5 yards the whole game. You know that Bama O-line was holding Tennessee on some of those plays.

I bet the Bama boards are having a field day reading you cry babies preemptively blaming the refs...pretty weak.
They got penalized once....let me repeat that, once. Officiating was horrid.....but we made terrible decisions on 4th down as well that didn't help

You’re going to let some strangers on another webpage influence your thoughts on this webpage? If I had a face to put with your name, I would pity you.

Oddly the Bama fans are already all over facebook blaming last year’s loss on the refs. Saying they hope they don’t get last year’s refs again.

Lol
Well, last year they had 17 penalties to our 6. Yesterday we had 8 to their 1 so a similar disparity.

This year
-no holding called on the rear naked choke ( TD pass)
-3rd and 11 phantom PI call extended the drive (TD)
-3rd and 10 phantom holding call on a receiver to extend a drive (TD)

It’s not so much the amount but when the bad calls happen.
We should still overcome that incompetence, but let’s not pretend there wasn’t a problem last night.

Though it wasn't the only reason we lost, 1-5 is quite obvious corruption or incompetence in this sport. But I expected a game decided by the refs. Didn't help though that our entire team coaches and players had a complete mental disconnect starting with the 2nd half whistle.

Oh, there were bad calls, sure. It's why I am never sorry to see anyone beat Bama, even UF/UGA but they were gripping about the disparity in the number of penalties last year and saying they got home cooked too. Every losing team fanbase resorts to it but it's best avoided because no one outside our fan base cares or will feel sorry for us, even when there's merit. They didn't even mention it on SEC Football Final. I get your frustration, I share it, but over the years I've realized it's pointless after the fact. I'll boo my a** off at bad calls in the stadium though.

It’s so bad across the board……it’s getting to a point I don’t want to watch anymore. I gave up the NBA years ago over officiating.
I don’t think there’s a vast conspiracy. I do believe that there are refs settling personal scores and a lot of them are just bad at the job.
