It's going to be a nail biting selection sunday, Tennessee is absolutely a bubble team, and has a pretty decent chance of hearing their name called tomorrow. IMO this is what it comes down to, you've got probably 64/68 spots filled at this point, and with no bids left to be stolen we can assume that number will stay at 4.

Competing for those 4 spots you have by my count 5 teams fighting to get a spot: Boise State, MTSU, La Salle, Ole Miss and Tennessee. (im not including kentucky, UVA, USM, UMASS, Iowa, Bama or Baylor i truly believe theyre all out) It very well could come down to how the committee decides to view the mid majors this year, or say final 10 games, or bad losses, you just never know from year to year what they are going to lean more heavily on.

I'm going to post the resumes for all 5 of those teams, keep in mind the only team playing still in that group is Ole Miss, and you can come to your own conclusion as to what 4 should be in out of that group.

Worst RPI

W/L 51-100 isn't too impressive.

At this point I don't think we make it. Call me "not a true fan" I don't care. That's the way I see it. Still an impressive season regardless. I didn't see us winning 20 w/o Maymon

NIT bound most likely. Two losses each to Ole Miss, GA, and Alabama did them in. No excuses next year.

UT, Ole Miss, La Salle, Boise State

MTSU has done nothing to prove that they can compete in the tournament.

Wow: I think Ole Miss, LaSalle and Boise St. should get in, and then UT. I leave out MTSU because they have Zero good wins. You have to have at least two good wins. We have second best strength of schedule--and strength of schedule would mean a lot to mean when assessing teams.

UT the only team in the top 60 in SOS, RPI, OOC SOS...like I said UT is in probably in a 12 or 13 seed playing a 4 or 5 seed

Fwiw MTSU would also be my odd team out...they played some teams, but had no good wins.

Boise should definitely be in, La Salle is close as well IMO, they have a loss to like a 99 RPI, so 1 spot away from 2 bad losses, but our good wins are better.

My hope is Ole Miss gets crushed tomorrow, it only increases our chances of getting in. I feel pretty confident though the final 4 will come from that group.

I think Saint Mary's should be getting mentioned more on the bubble. It blows my mind they aren't. They don't deserve to be in the tourney.

We jumped UVA, and Maryland fell...we are first team out according to Lunardi.

Boise, MTSU, Ole Miss and La Salle last four in.

UT, Ole Miss, La Salle, Boise State

MTSU has done nothing to prove that they can compete in the tournament.

MTSU hasn't proven they can beat a legit tournament team. That's why I think they should be left off.

Of this group, UT has the worst RPI so that's definitely a big blow. But we are also the only ones that don't have a losing record vs the Top 50.

It comes down entirely to what the committee is looking for. If its true they value SOS. Then UT should get the nod over MTSU.

At this point I think it's a tossup. 50/50

To think... If MTSU just wins their conference tourney, we are probably in right now without much argument.

For once we agree on something. Good post and good thread.

Bouncing around the Internet and tv, it seems like half the experts have Tennessee in and half have them out
