That's really freakin' tough. Sadly...when you put it like that, I think we're the last one out.

That honestly is where my frustration comes from. Hearing everyone call my Orioles 'lucky' last year (because of our run differential and record in 1-run games) pissed me off. I had to defend them so much. Haha.

But we had a shut down bullpen, which you mentioned. That was usually the center of my argument. We had a degree of luck, but we weren't a 4th-place caliber team that overachieved.

Sorry. Wrong sport I know. :)

I like your Orioles run. You also had the greatest one run record in MLB history.

We played 6 games against Top 50 teams and won THREE
MTSU played 3 games against Top 50 teams and won Zero.

We played 9 games against Top 50-100 teams and won SIX
MTSU played 1 game against a Top 50-100 team and won ONE.

Overall against TOP 100 teams, UT played 19 games with a 9-10 record
Overall against TOP 100 teams, MTSU played 4 games and won 1!

We've got 9 wins against top 100, MTSU has 1.

That's what I would look at--and it's an easy call for UT. We've just played a MUCH tougher schedule.

In the OP resumés, a minor point perhaps, but given KY's status as defending NCs and the drubbing we gave them, would that not be considered a good win? Even without Noel, they did post a couple of quality wins after that loss to us. Not that this would affect the overall trajectory I guess, but when the committee is staring at a toss-up consideration perhaps between us and MTSU, who knows that that wouldn't be one of the small intangibles that could help tip the balance?

Good loss is defined by committe as top 50 RPI win, KY isn't top 50 so no.

It was as much fun as I can remember having since I started following sports 12-13 years ago.

I must have had about 50 heart attacks during the season.

Not upset but really trying and it's hard to look fair at this, RPI is close but SOS it way out in front. Out of this grouping no way we don't get in, but I'm just trying to convince myself we are in. Please please please!!!!!!!!

Too much 1-50-100 R.P.I. gobbledygook here.

What the committee wants to see is quality road wins. Have you beaten NCAA Tournament-bound teams away from home? That's what's going to separate those who make the tournament from those that don't.
