It was all the refs fault.......wonderful Bammer tears.....

This is yet another example of why it is so dumb for some of our fans to criticize our own fans when they complain about the refs. I'm talking specifically about posts that seem to imply that Vol fans are the only ones who do this. Every fan base complains about officiating.

Enjoy! Apparently, we only won b/c of the refs.

Bammers are so funny.

I brought this up yesterday on the game forum. It astonishes me that they are blaming the refs. When we got beat a few years ago in the NCAA Tournament we did not go that route. TN fans realized that we needed to be more physical in the paint and not a "finesse" team. What is very funny is that they ignore the fact that they turned the ball over 19 times. They will get blown out of the NCAA Tournament with that way of thinking.

And you are correct. Funny and delusional. There are some whiny little beeyotches in that thread. It was a physical game on both sides. Get over it. One moron actually thought that the school gets to hire the refs that do the game until someone finally corrected him. They found a team last night that wasn’t going to play their little finesse game.

It's a pathetic look when other fans do it and it's pathetic when our fans do it as well.

I kinda understand their frustration, I've seen a multitude of bad calls in my time. We have, from time to time, benefited from missed calls, as well as penalized for bad calls. There isn't any sport that it doesn't happen.

Honestly, anytime SEC officials call a game the same both halves, I am shocked.
They let them play last night and didn't try to reel it in in the second half which did play into our favor,
but yeah, 19 turnovers.
As Bilas said, Bama players weren't sure who was in their jerseys, themselves or Tennessee

I had this discussion this morning with my brother. For the first time, I actually thought that Tennessee had the better of the officiating. They could have called at least 6+ more against us than they did. This is the only game this year that we benefitted from the refs.

I don't know if I would say pathetic. It's what a certain segment of any fan base will do. In that sense, it's normal. But I'm talking more about when I see things like it's "typical" of our fan base, in particular, or "just like Vol fans" to do it. Everyone does it. Every team in every sport across the world.

They can get over it. Physical works both ways. I saw Bediako throw 3 hip checks in the first 5 minutes and the only one they called was when he kneed Santi in the thigh and knocked him down. They probably thought that was a legal pick.

I understand their frustration, because there was alot of contact in the game and they are going to look better in an open, finesse type game. That's not why they lost though.

There were debatable noncalls throughout the game on both sides. I thought there were 4-5 more calls we could have received in the first half alone. So, yeah I understand, but no they didn't lose to the refs.

It’s what a certain segment does when they don’t understand that it’s a contact sport. Obviously never played in the playgrounds or gyms that I played in. If you weren’t bleeding, it wasn’t a foul. Quit whining and play.

I counted 9 clean turnovers in this video and one that could have possibly been called a bump but looked like good defense. Yeah it’s was the refs fault 🤣

Totally off topic. I listened to most of the game, and didn't see clips until today.

Those throwback jerseys are NEXT LEVEL awesome!!

I’m a sucker for Vols script logos. Basketball and baseball. I wish football would do an alternate with either of those on the helmet or across the chest.

I have played countless games, both organized and pick up. It is indeed a contact sport. However, the NCAA tried to implement freedom of movement rules several years back, and that does not seem to be the case. Another issue I have is that these officials are traveling and doing 3/4/5 games per week and are wildly inconsistent. I’ve officiated at a very low level. While it’s difficult, officials can hone their craft like players do. The lack of travel calls, the ridiculous block/charge calls, and the inconsistency with calls inside the paint and out front are all issues that are plaguing the game.

I'm with you on this. We remember the calls that seem egregious (to us), i.e. an iffy foul call that takes one of your main guys out, or a bump on a last second shot; but I'm way more concerned with how the refs call the game overall. A loosely called game like this one favors an aggressive defensive team like ours. We win that first Kentucky game if it's called like this one. And, consistency: no way to know how to defend or whether you can take it to the hole if the refs aren't consistent.

This is why, as a general rule, I try not to blame the refs. After every loss, you'll hear that. But at the end of the day, calls will go for you and against you. But the losing team can generally look back and see where they could have done better to win (Turnovers).
