It's a bad idea....

How do you feel about using defensive starters on offense?

Whatever it takes to win,,, although I firmly believe this is 'coach talk' to give opponents something else to prepare for. Who knows what our Fearless Leader might do.

AJ's about as close to an old fashioned Full Back that we have, so yes use him in short yardage situations

Between this and the "shameful and scary" thread, I think this guy is Dooley in disguise.

My goodness you people are amazing. Somehow me not liking the beast package means I love Dooley and I hate butch jones.......who knew. Learn something every day.

To use AJ Johnson, Curt Maggitt, or Justin Coleman on offense. They aren't used to having the ball in their hands (fumbles can lose games), we are too thin on defense already (if any of them got injured on offense it would be devastating to our defense). My guess is BJ is only talking about it so that WKU has more to prepare for. Am I in the minority about not wanting to see the "beast package"?

It appears the answer to my simple question is yes, I'm in the minority. I also learned that apparently I'm a troll for even asking the question. This place amazes me more and more everyday.

I don't know if you are in the minority (I guess so according to the poll). I'd be for it if I thought it would help us win, but I don't think it is really necessary this year.

Justin Coleman in the wildcat with Curt and AJ in the backfield at the same time for a read option. Sounds like money to me.

Just win baby!

That's exactly what I mean. IMO the risk isn't worth the reward. Because of this opinion, according to some highly intelligent individuals on Volnation, I must love Dooley and be against Jones if we run it.

My gosh there are so many genius coaches on here sitting on their couches just waiting for that call from a big name school. I hope the ADs are looking at this website!

I don't know about genius coaches on here, but there sure are a lot of people on here that can't stand for someone to ask a simple question. How is it that me saying I don't like using defensive players on offense makes me a "genius coach"? Please enlighten me. If I had said I don't like the wish bone offense would that also mean I was a genius coach? Please enlighten me. I need answers on why and how a few of you turn this into me being a Dooley lover and anti Butch Jones. Please enlighten me.

For the record I didn't question it's use, I said I didn't like. I didn't even say it wouldn't be effective. It's just my opinion that under our current circumstances (being thin on defense) it's not worth the risk.

I wouldn't worry you are not a "genius coach".

Why not use the element of surprise?! Teams certainly have no qualms about using the element of surprise on us. Unfortunately, I have seen prior to this year a lot of teams play Tennessee like they had memorized more of Tennessee's playbook than Tennessee had memorized of other teams' playbooks.

I like having AJ on the field in any capacity. Maggitt and Coleman I don't know since I haven't seen them on offense.

I'd like to see Tiny and J. James on defense during goalline stands, just sayin.
