Assuming Gruden, Stoops, Patterson, Peterson, and Tressel were never options, I think he's the best of the rest and you could end up doing pretty well. Hope he brings in all his favorite defensive coaches, and keeps Graham and Pittman, brings in Tee Martin. I wouldn't even necessarily be opposed to keeping Chaney as OC - 2nd in total offense in the SEC this year wasn't too shabby.

I personally don't agree with this hire. Not impressed with what he's done at Louisville in a weak Big East. Others will disagree, say he's a great recruiter. I'm not sold.

But I do know it's a step up from Dooley.

And that has become the criteria for a coach at The University of Tennessee," a step up from Dooley". He has scared this University, no this state , irreparably. Now after all of this homerun hire crisp and this is what we get. Hart should have been gone along with Dooley and anyone who liked either of them!

I thought it was posted somewhere here that that was his base but in total he made around 2.75mil a year. I may be wrong.

This article and many others have his base salary at 2.3 million a year, but with retention bonuses (which would not likely be included in his contract with us) it takes him to 12.6 over the next four years.
