hearing other schools with job openings interviewing candidates. We get nothing. Not even a list of coaches we might be interested in hiring. This has been UT's MO for some time now. It would be nice if they would let the fans know that we are making progress in our search. But no, it's the same old thing. I know loose lips sinks ships, but this is ridiculous. :blink:

Exactly. I believe Hart is dropping the ball on this search. We had 10 extra days to get on it and I feel Hart hasn't even started

Ya'll are like the kids that want to know everything they are getting for Christmas. Instead, just believe that Santa Clause wants to get you cool stuff, and then when Christmas comes, you'll be happy you didn't spoil the surprise

one interview today...and mr. hart flies to new york and other places for several this weekend...it is difficult to keep up with.

Sage advice.

We hear nothing out of the AD by design and so, therefore, we assume nothing must be going on. Believe what you want and assume the worst if you like. But silence doesn't necessarily mean nothing is afoot.

well AR is blabbering about every offer they make. How is that working for them ? :)

I like the quiet. Make the deal, then go public. Why make noise zooming in on any HC if the hire isn't there?

The only thing AR has been able to do so far is embarrass themselves going after Miles publicly, and he gets a nice little raise for it....

I don't believe Gruden is coming but everyone (money, fans, AD) has expressed how important this hire is and how we can't handle another project. He's either got his man or he really is crazy to start so late. I just find it hard to believe that he's waited this long to start the process.

gruden had a scheduled interview with hart and cancelled it...

First off, Hart's not going to tell us anything, and that's likely to the advantage of the search. But you'd have to be naive to believe he's doing nothing.

There's plenty in the media that is being reported. Hart is headed to Florida en route to NY for the College Football Hall of Fame banquet that will honor Fulmer. In Florida he's supposed to meet with Gruden and Golden (although it's rumored that Gruden cancelled), and then he has meetings set up with others during the banquet.

Having more information than that is detrimental to the search. All of these guys negotiate through agents, and the issue of knowledge to the other school gives the agents leverage to negotiate a higher price.

Earliest, absolute earliest that you'll hear anything is 12/8.

Until then grow a pair and be patient.

If he doesn't have his man by now he has dropped the ball on a level that's never been done before. He knew Dooley was gone after mizzu.

Ok. I feel like EA's statement today that Hart is just now getting to the search is a ploy to get the AD to come out and say something in his defense...more or less to force Hart to come out and tell us what he has in the works or have every Vol fan thinking he's doing jack.

I don't think Hart is an idiot. He cannot be just starting his search. Either he's jumping through hoops right now biding his time to make the announcement tomorrow or soon thereafter when all the I's are dotted and T's crossed...or Gruden or whoever he's been flirting with just completely fell through and he's starting his panic stricken progression through his list of possible candidates.

Oh...and if Golden is seriously on that list...Hart should be done.

Try some patience... It's not the AD's job to keep fans up to date on every little development. Not to mention reporting things like that tend to get blown up by the media.

It is naive to believe that Hart hasn't started because no news is coming out. If he is talking to coaches who still have games to play on Saturday, I would question his competence for spouting off about pursuing them.

I don't believe he has dropped the ball until he hires some hot shot "up and comer". If that happens, I would consider him a failure.

You really have to be kidding. Putting your search on blast is a terrible way todo business. If he hasnt done anything saying something makes him look bad, and maybe its a delciate situation for the current coach and saying something makes him look bad and maybe turns of the coach he wants. keep in mind TCU has a game this weekend and you wouldnt announce Patterson until AFTER that game.

Now go change your shorts your peeing in wiating for an announcement and understand it will happen before the December 16th dead period for recruiting.

BTW, I'm pretty sure there was a constant stream of info coming out during the last search and we kept getting updated on who turned us down--that was depressing to say the least.
