So basically, UT can't even blatantly cheat and be successful.

The U of M went to the Final Four and did not cheat. The reason for the vacated status centers on Rose's ACT score. The ACT that he took PRIOR to setting foot on campus and which the NCAA Clearinghouse approved not once, but twice. NCAA could never prove Rose did not take his test. Anyone with a brain in their head, including many talking heads, agree that the vacated status is BS.

What about Dozier's test scores? Or Sallie's? Or how bout paying Rose's brother to travel with the team. Not saying those were involved in the Final 4 being vacated, but they don't help your U of M did not cheat argument.

Rose was declared an ineglible, which means basically U of M cheated by using what was later determined to be a player who could not play.

NCAA Clearinghouse cleared both of those players. Rose's brother repaid the travel amount. The way the team plane worked, is any supporter can fly as long as they pay. Folks are billed after the fact.

It was a bookkeeping issue as Reggie flew numerous times and all of those were repaid except the one in question.

How exactly is the U of M at fault? The test was taken PRIOR to Rose coming to campus. The NCAA Clearinghouse cleared Rose's academic record not once, but twice. After receiving the "all clear" Memphis played him. Had the NCAA not cleared him, or refused to make a determination, Rose would not have been allowed to play.

Was the Rose SAT suspicious? Probably. Did the NCAA PROVE that Rose did not take the test or that Memphis could have had any knowledge of the test? NO. The NCAA chose to use "strict liability", a term never used before, to enforce their BS decision.

Funny how GP, Calkins, Wolken, etc. were never forgotten about when it came to charging them to fly with the team. lol

I just don't think we should be trying to bust Memphis' chops on getting a Final Four vacated when we've never even made a Final Four and have a head coach who has been caught intentionally cheating and engaging in a coverup.

I guess that would make us just like every other Division 1 team that has committed secondary violations.

:disappointed:

It's the coverup that is always the more egregious offense. If BP had just told the truth, this would be a whole lot less of an issue.

Yea, we'll see if you're talking about secondary violations when we get slapped with a postseason ban.
