This team has about as much killer instinct as a dead dog. I cannot see how a team plays with little or no passion 75% of the time. Im done with the men this year, GO PAT keep the girls winning, I know we will see them in March, and ohhhh yeah they are all freshmen, so as usual Pat is doing good, and now that Buzz's team is gone, looks like pearl should have stayed at DIV II

here we go again... you guys are so selfish its ridiclous this team doesnt have the experiance last yr team had and everyone thinks we r goin to domiante the ncaa since we had a good run of 2 or 3 years it takes time to build a team in basketball.. okay lets fire pearl who took ut bball from basically death to one of the brighter programs in the country but yh lets run him off after losing 5 players from last yr team and playing mostly freshman at the wings good luck in that regards

My problem with this team is it's obvious they aren't learning from mistakes and bad play. It's one thing to play bad in November/December....when you're still making the same stupid mistakes and bad play in February, something is very wrong.

We're not gelling, we're not turning the corner...it's obvious the Florida game was the exception not a sign of us getting better. We're going to be hot and cold the rest of the way and should we make the NCAAT, we'll be spanked in the first round.

Pearl has his hands full with this bunch because we'll basically have this same team next year. There are way too many guys right now that need a TON of improvement. I hate to say it but this reminds me of the Green teams where the players didn't get better as they went. Williams has gotten worse, Tatum has gotten worse, Prince is either really good or really suck, Tabb has mostly disappeared, and even Tyler Smith is playing worse this year. Chism is the only guy really that has improved. Now I'm not saying in any way Pearl = Green, but right now he shares a similiar problem.

Considering this team has no chance at a deep run in the NCAAs, a trip to the NIT may be for the best. It would knock some of these egos into place.

That doesn't mean the team isn't above criticism, and an legit criticism is the inability of this team to learn from mistakes and improve. They are making the same mistakes and bad play they had several, several games ago. You either learn and improve, or you prove you're not very good.

This coming week we have two very winnable games at home with Georgia and Vandy. We HAVE to win both of these then we will be 16-8. This puts us in a position to win 20 games. If we win 20 games we should get in. I think this goal is attainable. It is not a given, but it can be done.

Guys come on we will make the tourney... We are probably going to win the east. We WILL win the next two games and then loose one of the three biggies (usc, uk, uf). Sure we need to improve a TON but we have an super tough schedule compared to most teams in the nation. Not to mention quality wins of Georgetown, Marquette, UF, Siena. Our worst loss is to a 14-9 auburn team. come on we r fine.

I agree. We made it tougher on ourselves by blowing today's game, which was very frustrating, but we are still alive.

After that performance at an empty arena against a 1-6 SEC team, what possibly makes you think we'll win 2 of 3 at UK, at UF, and at USC. All 3 are much better than Auburn and will have a much, much better crowd.

And what exactly makes you think we're going to "improve a TON" between now and the end of the season. We were saying in late December how much we needed to improve but many were saying how we would definitely do so, and here we are saying the same thing over a month later. Early February is not the time you should be saying how much you need to improve, it's the time you should be getting into your groove.

So based on all the actual facts, I'd love to know how this team is "fine".

How do you figure this team is going to get into the NCAA Tourney?

And BTW Georgetown is in freefall mode, so it's not looking so much like a quality win more and more.

No it wouldn't. This team just has too many egos and it will stay that way. Hopson may do a 720 dunk when we're down in the NIT.

Dude UK lost to Gardner Webb, Houston, San Diego, and UAB last year and then played exceptionally well in the SEC (full of "better teams" with "better crowds"). They made the tourney with all those losses last year in a much more competitive conference last year. Given, they are UK, but still we have no losses as bad as that.

Every team improves the longer they play together. We are still searching for an identity as a team. We are still learning when to shoot and when to not, when to pass, and where to pass. It looks simple watching from your couch but being on the court is totally different. this team is still feeling out who they wanna go to. Trust me when i say we will get better.

EXAMPLE:
We should have fed chism way more today. Prince was killing them with penetration and a dish to the post player.

Well, its not like Pearl is going to echo the doom-and-gloom tag we've all placed on this team. He's going to continue trying to motivate them and tell them there's still hope. So for all we know the players (and coaches too) may be oblivious to how bad they are. A mere NIT birth could definitely knock a team predicted to be a Sweet 16 squad into reality.
