churches know how to raise money. have you even been to church? or do you get your information from moveon.org. pretty clueless statement.

Yes I'm an active member of my church. In fact, I was just installed as a deacon this past Sunday, so yeah, I know about churches.

Completely agree that choosing based on race is just as bad.

And that's what the majority of Obama supporters are doing. The only change he will bring is the color of the president. If he were are white guy saying the same things nobody would give him the time of day.

That is sooo not true! I hope you don't honestly think that.

Those who are not on board do think that to a large extent. Many of Hillary's supporters believe that as well, a good portion of them will vote for Obama for the simple fact that they don't want to break party lines.

Of course it's true. It makes many white Americans feel "better" about themselves to say they are voting for a (half) black man.

Obama is a great salesman and is playing to people's emotions. Most decisions are based on emotion and he has done a great job at tapping into that.

Until Palin there was no emotion on the GOP side. Now there is as much if not more emotion on McCain's side creating serious problems for Obama in this race.

Just like it makes many women feel "better" about themselves to say they are voting for a woman?

Yes, exactly!

McCain now has the emotion and passion surrounding his campaign and that is what Obama has used this entire time to gain popularity, and now Obama is finally feeling some pressure.

Stop changing my post! :realmad:
Why do people vote for someone just because of the color of their skin or their gender? I guess there are a lot of stupid people in this world then.

It is true, just look at the percentage of African American voters who will cast their ballot for Obama.
I can understand it to some extent but many voters (both parties) do very little research on their picks for POTUS, they simply look for dirt on the other guy to reinforce their beliefs.

That is sad, but I agree with you.

Probably about the same percentage that would vote for any Democrat. I would be interested in knowing what percentage would vote for an African American Republican candidate. That would give you a better snapshot on how much race plays a factor.
