Yet Miss. St. finished ahead of them in recruiting.

there are almost zero div 1a athletes in oregon and eugene isn't exactly southern california. the fact that they occasionally break the top-20 in recruiting IS a testament to how flatscreens, xboxes, and stupid uniforms can draw recruits.

Thank you for bringing reason into this.

There are plenty of places that bring in top recruits that don't have that crap.

yeah and their names are USC, Ohio State, Michigan, Texas, etc etc etc

name one other program in the middle of nowhere with 60 years of losing tradition and 10 years of winning 8 games that regurally brings in 4 star recruits.

now personally i'd argue that oregon tends to have a very high % of their top recruits flame out (or not qualify) which might have to do with the fact they are impressed by shinny things over football.

This proves my earlier point that rankings mean nothing.

i suggest you take a look at the teams that regurally have top-10 recruiting classes and then take a look at the final AP poll. there is a strong correlation. now certain teams like miami, tenn, and oregon tend to have a lot more flameouts than others, but it's ridiculous to say that recruiting rankings mean nothing.

what's the last national champion to not have multiple top-5 recruiting classes in hte years prior to the NC? I can't think of one.

BTW this blogger on Yahoo sports (her name is Holly) is apparently in love with them, because well she is a girl and dosent know what she is talking about... i mean girls are great....

She happens to be a huge UT fan, if I recall correctly. Not that that changes anything about your arguement, just felt like pointing it out.

No, I was thinking Nebraska, Tennessee, Mich. St., Purdue, K-St, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Iowa, Colorado, Arizona St., Boston College, Wisconsin, Okla. St., Illinois and on and on.

Now a few of these schools have been very good historically but experienced some seriously lean years and don't have a ton of in-state talent.

I know Ole Miss has had some decent recruiting classes lately. Perhaps Kansas State during Bill Snyder's heyday? You're definitely correct, though. Oregon is doing something right. I tend to think it's more the facilities than the stupid unis, but who knows?

I would agree with that.

Oregon recruits at their level, if not better. Deny the uni's, flatscreens, 5 * facilities all you want, I don't care. It's kind of like when Tennessee fans say when Kiffin's in the news "any pub is good pub". Who's uniforms are always in the news? Thanks, have a nice day.

At what point did I say facilities and flatscreens don't matter? As you would say, read and comprehend. Thanks, have a nice day.

I see you neglected the last part of my statement comparing Kiffin's pub to the uni's pub, thus you agree. Thanks, have a nice day.

I ignored because it's stupid. I guess I missed ESPN and Sportscenter, PTI, Around The Horn, national newspapers etc discussing Oregon's unis everyday.

They don't everday. Back when they first started having these funky uni's, they were on PTI, College Gameday, Sportscenter, etc., just like Lane Kiffin is new and unique and everyone wants to talk about him. You must have been too busy dreaming of playing big boy college football. Thanks, have a nice day.
