I just wanted to say a few words about our season and the state of our current program. Too many fans(myself included) have done way too much complaining,crying/whining, and *****ing for the last four years plus years! I haven't missed a single play since 1987. I've seen my fair share of ups and downs regarding our football teams, but when I stop and thing about where we are now as a fan base....it's just scary. We ALL want instant fixes, instant SEC contention, and instant talent upgrades. Well you know what...no amount of finger pointing, whining, crying, and/or *****ing is going to fix this problem in a year or even two! We are where we are due to several years of insufficient recruiting and coaching hires that simply didn't work out. I love my VOLS and want to win EVERY game...but as a "true fan" I support them unconditionally. This being said...I want to encourage our fan base to show more patience and support for our players and coaches. Let's face it...no one wants to turn things around more than them! I know many will jump at the chance to flame me...but you're the very ones that I'm referring to. So in closing....let's step up,stop with all the negativity (or simply go jump on board with another program!), and "TRY" to show more patience and support for our program. GO VOLS!

In the last 6 seasons, UT is 32-41!

And yet there were still over 90,000 people at a cold November game! I'd say this fan base is very patient and starving for something good to happen.

For me, enough with the stupid cliches (brick by brick, team 117, referring to Bama as the red team) and simply go about doing the things needed to win.

Yep. The red team deal really didn't sit well with me. Reminded me of GDenardo when he was at Vandy when he spoke of Tennessee. I don't think that ever helps..

Could you not just have posted your opinion under one of the 8,000 threads with the same exact subject?

This fan base has been more than patient, good grief. This is probably not another fan base in the country that has been this patient yet every year we get the blind supporters telling us be patient. Every year it's be patient.

It's not about accepting failure, it's about understanding and accepting where this program is currently at. The failure started with Mike Hamilton and his bonehead fires/hires. That's in the past and there is nothing we can do to change it. The only thing we can do is hope Butch and Co. can get it turned around. Using 1 season after the previous 4 to try and judge that is just not a very smart thing to do.

To me "the red team" bs was one of the dumbest things to come out of Butch's mouth

I never got the theory behind that whole thing.

If you don't want the team to think there is something special or different about Alabama, then why go out of your way to call them something different? Unless you refer to every team by their primary color, you are doing nothing but making it clear that there is, in fact, something special or different about Alabama.

yes, with a 4-7 team Neyland has the 4th highest attendance in the country, so you are right. On the other hand, just send CBJ your script for his next news conference so he can follow it and maybe you will be satisfied with his responses.

The only thing he can do is keep them short and to the point. If he's brutally honest, he'll be accused of throwing the players under the bus.

When you're a 4-7 team, there's really nothing you can say in a press conference to make anyone feel any better. It's a no win situation, because there was very little winning on the field.
