Vols should take a serious look at Coach Will Wade at UTC. He's doing things at UTC similar to what CBP did in his first year in Knox, getting players that don't even fit his system to outperform their level of talent. Wade is a former Shaka Smart assistant. Vols admin would do themselves a favor to take notice of what's going on in Chattanooga right now.

EDIT: Last night's UTC vs UNC-G game had 6,684 attendance, highest in the SoCon this year.

Agree. UTC has won 8-10 straight. He won't be there long...

I don't want CCM fired after the year now. Why pay his buyout and have to pay a new HC and staff next year when this team will be just AWFUL? This is a .500 team at best next year no matter whose coaching, so let's make CCM suffer through it and then can him after next season. That way we also give him a full 4 years.

Yeah kinda like when on Seinfeld George's employer wants to get rid of him, since they now know he isn't really handicapped and as a result, they don't like him....but he has a 1 year contract...so he keeps showing up for work everyday...shame him...make him quit....

Mixed feelings on this one. Being a Chattanooga resident, I am thrilled with what Coach Wade is doing at UTC. I'd be pissed if he was a one and don-er! On the other hand, if he's GOING to be a one and don-er I'd love to see him come to UT.

Growing up in Chattanooga the Mocs were my number 1 BB team...especially the Gerald Wilkins years...I've been hearing the accolades about Wade...if we go small school shopping again, this could be the guy.

If UT decides to get a new bball head coach they should look no further than Belmont. With the exception of trying to get Pearl back. Anyways the guy at Belmont has done incredible things there. And if he can win with the talent he has there imagine what he could do with a few extra resources at UT.

Rick Byrd. He got passed over because of his age. However, he would still be in my top 3 of realistic coaches.

Fair weather fan

Oh look ,another fightingmartins. I bet you were a Dooley defender also ? Just because the guy is sick of watching this circus that is being coached by a clown and that makes him a fair weather fan ? You and the other fightingmartins are what's pathetic because you people always try to defend Martin no matter what and ridicule others who don't agree or that can see he is a fraud. Regardless it's not going to end well for Martin and the other fightingmartins. If the AD keeps this clown past this year which they probably will then next year you and the rest of his defenders can join him on his final SEC goodbye tour.

Watched Leron Black, Chris Chiozza and the Lawson twins on ESPNU Geico HS showcase game up in Newbern,Tn yesterday (Memphis Hamilton -v- Memphis White Station). Recruits we missed out on bigtime.(I know one of the Lawson twins is not a SR. but he's headed to Memphis) Chiozza is going to be fun to watch(unfortunately at Florida) and Black is just a high motor athlete Fighting Illini fans will love. CCM has more big time recruiting misses than hits. Expectation is that your team get's better each season, on paper this team will take a major step back this fall. Not sure CCM can survive that if it happens.

UT will have to ride this out unfortunately, so we may as well get used to it. They'll have to give him a 4th year simply so the next candidates wont hold it against UT for not giving him that. The coaching fraternity is tight, people need to understand that. As a guy who's tried to be a supporter of Cuonzo simply because he is the UT coach and I really hoped things would come together. My worst fears are coming true, and Cuonzo is the poster boy for the Peter Principle(in a nut shell, some people will be promoted far above their capabilities). I wanted to believe this guy had a plan. He doesn't. I'm watching the game and Stokes at one point tries to bring the ball up the court like he's a ball handler. He had it batted away of course and the camera cut to Cuonzo was one of no reaction. He didn't call a TO until we went down 35-20 or something at that point. The team played totally lost and I must say the coaching was lost to. There wasn't a coach on that bench that had the first clue. There might be hundreds of coaches who would've had some clue to keep that game semi close. I'd have rather had the last coach in the pecking order from some teams bench leading us last night instead of Cuonzo. Some of them have probably forgotten more about strategy than Cuonzo obviously will ever know. Cuonzo is obviously a guy who looks at how something is written up and could go out and do it as a player. But, now HE has to be the brains of it and cant get it done.

I will not renew my tickets next year to watch this dreadful coach. I probably will only go to a couple of the remaining games this year. It's a waste of my time and money to go.

Good I would rather see fans get the tickets.

A "fan" who likes watching losing basketball is a fool. Dumb post.

How'd the wake for Vandy's recruiting class go?

The fall in attendance if he is here next year will out weight the money we save by keeping him. And I'm not sure I can stand another year of his mumbling interviews.

We know the consequences of keeping the wrong guy for the job to long ! Maybe we've learned?

I would prefer Shaka Smart vs. his disciple.

OP if we continue to dig his hole the climb out will be hell.

I hear ya man, but Hart has consistently said that we cannot afford to continue to pay coaches not to coach at UT. I think the team would have to completely collapse down the stretch for CCM not to get another year. I am ready for a new coach too and really think there are some coaches out there who we could hire at a resonable price, but I have lost all faith in this athletic dept.

Do you think with the guys he has recruited that the team will be better for a coach to take over 2 years from now as opposed to next year? It will just get worse imo. I like Martin as person just not as coach.

We are paying CCm right now for not coaching so what does it matter whether he is courtside or not?

I too have lost all confidence in the Dept. as well. It is maddening for all of us.
