The first part of last season I couldn't have been happier with JP. He has an incredible talent for driving to the hoop and finishing. He gave us some great minutes off the bench and I believe even won the SEC's 6th man of the year.

Then, around tournament time, (I believe due to a bad performance by Ramar Smith) Bruce decided he was going to let JP try his hand at point guard. The only problem is, Prince doesnt handle the ball that well, especially in pressure situations. Whats worse, he is an abysmal shooter, just painful to watch (1-14 on 3s this year).

I thought he was a very valuable player last year, but now I find myself constantly furious at his play (like the 3 he air-mailed in overtime tonight) and think he now disrupts the flow of the game more than he helps it. He needs to get back to slashing (he did it once tonight and looked great) and never take a 3-pointer for the rest of his career:shakehead:

JP Prince is a waste of a scholarship and a pair of sneakers. We were better when he was still hurt.

The way he has played this year he is a classic waterboy. He is terrible, how can somebody with that bad of a shot be a 5 star recruit? I guess it was the haircuts.

omg plese check out my thread i made and listen to it all of you dont know wat u aare talking about... omg he missed a three he not that good of a 3 point shooter but he was wide open..do u not see all the off rebounds and putbacks he gets and easy baskets w/o prince we r way worse.. he is are third best player after smith n chism

You obviously know a lot about basketball, as I can tell by your posting... If snowbirding makes you good, then JP is the best ever.

jp gets his 1 or 2 good off boards a game that makes everyone go wow he is good and he has a slash that is pretty good...problem is he finishes either of those about 35% of the time from 2 feet...He is never a threat from outside 10 ft and he can't shoot ft's..combine that with a high dribble and the propensity to panic and pathetic defense and to boot he is hurt.

he is not playing well this year and anyone that thinks he is does not know basketball...no leadership at all either

Idenity...this team has no idea what there real idenity is. The only one with a clue is Tyler Smith. Wayne Chism is finally realizing where he is suppose to play and get his points. I was totally amazed how Cameron sunk into his shell the second half. He did not want the ball.

I was sayin that last year, he sucks, he is lazy, plays no defense. he runs out so he can get a dunk. someone on the team needs to knock him upside the head and tell him to start hustling. if i were bruce i sit his arse on the bench. someone also needs to tell him to get those ridiculous lines out of his head, he looks retarded

Agreed. One word describes J.P. Prince - LAZY He will not play defense at all. He gave up a ton of points last night because his man blew by him. I am all for putting some of those boys who sit at the end of the bench in the game and let them play some D. BP is lamenting the lack of D play and toughness. Sounds way too familiar... Watch video and work like heck.

This thread made me finally join this forum!

JP Prince is the biggest cancer we have on the team. He's an absolute headcase. There were about 4 oppurtunities last night when he should have dunked it but instead he tried some Dr. J reverse layup flip and missed them all. Whenever he scores he pumps his arms and screams. That alone tells you how immature he is as a player and a person.

1 in every 5 games he may prove useful providing a point spark off the bench. The fact he was starting last night just made me have a bad feeling. Pearl should have pulled him late in the game. He had some CRUCIAL mental mistakes that I believe cost us the game. I haven't liked this guy since the first time I saw him here at UT, and I don't think I ever will.

Uh - no. Look back to basketball threads from last year. Many disliked the way he played and the way he complained. He's a moron when it comes to fouls - he slaps guys arms for no reason when they're not even trying to dribble past him and they are stationary... when he does get beat off the dribble (often), he gives up and grabs the guy for fouls as well.

I just hate the way he plays. He's lazy, he whines and cries over everything, and likes the showoff and ends up looking stupid in the process. Congratulations - he can dunk off fast break opportunities and that's it... and he can occasionally dribble past someone to the left once a game and lay it in (but then they realize he can't dribble to his right so they take that away and he's useless again).

i've never praised him. he sucks, you obviously don't watch. just because he can dunk doesn't mean he's ALL AMERICAN
