J.P. Prince

Is it me, or are we noticing the start of a possibly disturbing trend under Pearl, and that is that players don't seem to improve.

Ramar Smith was pretty good his freshman year, and then was absolutely awful last season. They may have had something to do with his off the court problems but still. Now Prince has gone from at least a decent player to just plain awful. Brian Williams has also regressed a lot.

yep, played thru college. won a conf title, and made it to two NCAA tourneys in D2. sr yr we were ranked as high as 12th in the nation, ended the season ranked 21st. in hs went to 2 state tourney's, was all state twice. i don't think i'm God's gift to basketball, but i do knw a little. i'm not saying i'm smarter than you. here's the thing. my frsh yr we were like TN is. we had some guys who had unbelieveable talent, but they were me guys, complained about everything, didn't do the little things to win the game. that didn't set a good example. we ended up underachieving big time. the nxt yr lets just say preseason was hell. what happened? we won the conf.

i agree 100% w/ what's in bold

My only disagreement with you is in whether or not JP is a cancer. I don't disagree that his attitude and effort level could be improved. I just don't see him as the me-type of guy who can destroy a teams chemistry. Maybe if we had a team full of Tyler Hansbrough's but most of our roster have similar traits as JP and that makes me think it's more an issue with Bruce than one individual player. Chism has been like that since he got here and hasn't progressed as much as his should in his understanding of the game.

i agree our teams basketball iq is close to 0. i agree again that its bruce's fault, he obviously has not been doing much coaching this year. i honestly have no clue to what he does in practice. because there is absolutely no improvement

I thought JP played excellent last night and showed tremendous effort and heart with great positioning and rebounding as well as defense.

then the under 16 minute timeout of the first half hit and he went back to no effort whatsoever.

If only he would play like that first 4 minutes of last night the entire time he was on the floor all the time then maybe he could actually deserve it when someone mentions his relations to Tayshaun.

In the first four minutes he played so well because he was given three passes that were right on the money, right under the rim.

Anywhere else on the court he is useless and plays zero defense.....BTW....If he leaves his feet for a half assed pump fake one more time I may eat my remote.

JP Prince did not get worse. He is the same level of 'poor player' that he was last year. People know he cant shoot and the way defenses are playing us takes away the only strength he has...driving to his left. Last year he had some lanes to drive because defenses had to defend Lofton and Smith. No shooters=clogged lane. Clogged lane=absolutely zero chance that Prince does anything productive.
