This. Alden Hill is very important to us and our future. Especially if for some reason Marlin Lane doesn't get his stuff together.
Hill could be our number 2 back next year and he and Tom Smith could be our only backs who will return in 2014.

I'm not sure why you would say that. Hill doesn't have the speed that Neal does but he runs straight ahead and doesn't dance. Neal turned a lot of 4 yard gains into no gain last year because of his frustrating refusal to run between the tackles.
Although I was pissed when JG left us, in hindsight it may have been a blessing. He didn't live up to his hype.

Not really. What he did during the O&W game works. It isn't flashy. It won't put him on any watch lists. But he is a 3 yards and cloud of dust RB that plays his assignments. If he runs as tough as he did in the spring without getting hurt and does a solid job of blocking then he'll be a very good #2 or #3 RB. He won't run away from anyone but neither did Arian Foster.
