Is this NCAA rules or some BS Jimmy "Booger" Cheek came up with?

NCAA rules.

If you are a non qualifier and go Juco, you have to graduate. If you are a qualifier and go to Juco, you can transfer to 4 year school after one year. that is how we took Nick Lamison a few years ago

No, it was 32 at one point but the ships for Vickers and Johnson reduced it to 30. Gordon makes no difference because he would have been a senior this year anyway. So he is no impact on the class number for 2014.

they can only back count 5 and the SEC rule of only 25 LOI's limits things to 30 at this juncture

Crazy 'Cruitin' Math!

So the system failed him huh ? Hope Jabo does well with his future and hope he uses this as motivation to do the things needed to play for TN in the future. Would be a great story. Would also speak volumes about himself and CBJ

Yea, I hope he uses this as motivation and gets the tutoring and mentoring he needs to excel in the classroom as he does on the field. Maybe we will even see him as a JUCO or on Sundays. But first he needs to get a marketable education.

Hope you're not being snide, Rock33. Yes, the system fails lot of kids, especially minority ones. It ranges from teachers spending extra time in the lounge well past their break while kids are unsupervised in classrooms to underfunding of certain school districts.

However, a big part of this is also family. I recall a pal of mine saying how his mom "glued" his rear to the dinner table right after school to finish homework, and called his teachers at home to check on the assignments to be sure what those assignments were. And on weekends, she walked his butt to the local library for two hours of reading whether it was American Folklore or mags like LOOK, Life, Time, Popular Science etc or something else.

UT signee Jabo Lee says he's qualified, going to a 4-year school, but it won't be Tennessee | Evan's Eleven

"Lee told the Morning News on Thursday and didn’t disclose the exact reason for not going to Tennessee, but said it wasn’t because he didn’t qualify."

Apparently jabo cleared the clearinghouse for a 4 year school. He got Cheeked.

Might be. The UT has to be leery about the new GPA requirements. Even BJ commented about looking at the students' high school teachers for input. Wants the whole information package on a kid, he said.

I wouldn't be sure about that just yet. Qualified is a relative term. Like Kent Turene a few years ago. He was qualified, at West Virginia but not for any SEC schools. There are 4 year schools, W VA and Marshall 2 prime examples, that have been getting kids in for years that most others could not touch.

Just noticed that Rivals still shows us in 1st place but with only 23 instead of 24. Is that due to Jabo leaving? If so, why did it take Rivals so long to factor that in?
