Jacques Smith and family on Butch Jones approach

CBJ and staff doing all the right things. The players and families have noticed. I hope CDD never gets another head coaching job anywhere. He doesn't deserve it. He hurt us as much as Kiffin did.

If he can get it right a lot of big plays could be made by this guy..maybe the new type conditioning and hands on coaching will bring it out

Why do you care whether or not Dools gets a head coaching somewhere else? So he didn't win enough for you so you want his career destroyed? Google "perspective" and see if any of it looks familiar.

I understand the sentiment as Butch Jones does so many things right that Dooley did wrong but what Kiffin did was far more damaging, imo, and we are still recovering. Dooley at least brought in some talent and got our numbers going in the right direction as far as scholarship players go.

Exactly! Plus, moving him back to end in the 4-3 suits him much better. Expect big things from him this year, IMHO.

"I haven't experienced anything like this, and this is my fourth year here at the university," he said. "It just brings the fun back".

Hear ya Jacques. It's been too long.

When kids feel like that, they will run through walls for their coach and do things on the field that they did not think possible to do. That will translate into winning games that are close and winning games they are not supposed to win this year. It sounds like the attitude change is bringing a sense of ownership and those guys will play because they feel they are a part of something bigger than themselves.

Lots of positive vibes and stories surrounding this coaching change. I just hope everything continues to be positive once they hit the field. The issue is going to be getting this team over the hump of figuring out how to win instead of falling back into their habit of letting games slip away when it's close.

We might be better of than we think these kids didnt have any coaching the last 3 years, so we might be better than we think we are going to be.

In b4 "dools is that you?"

I agree with you fade

I was one of his biggest critics when he was here, but geez, I don't despise the guy like some on here. The guy needs to at least be able to live his life. I actually think he will do pretty well as a wr coach in Dallas...jmo.

Same story, different coaching change.

We'll see what happens in September.

Oh what a tangled web we weave, when..........Oh wait. That does not fit or make any sense whatsoever here............NM........carry on.

No. It's not. The last coaching change, the media was freaking out because DD wouldn't allow the media around the program to start off his tenure. No coach interviews at all. The former players weren't allowed ANYWHERE near the team or the facilities. That is just a few differences, and I won't waste my time explaining the rest.

Agreed, Fade. I hope he gets a head gig and is successful. I wish him the best moving forward.

Two different types of people, one wishes someone well and parts ways while the other wishes them to rot in hell. I do however think Dools put the screw job on UT and was derelict in his duties in the final months of his tenure which causes some of the bad vibes to emerge. I am simply elated he is gone.
