Jacques Smith and family on Butch Jones approach

Maybe I took the "fattened his wallet" comment from you differently and incorrectly. If so, I apologize. In terms of letting him live his life, I was referring to the poster who stated that Dooley doesn't deserve another head coaching job, which I think is silly. But you are right - it's a message board and everyone is entitled to their perspective, including my perspective that they are wrong.

No one "deserves" any head coaching job. That's why there are interviews, salary negotiations, agents, etc... People are invited to interviews, offered and signed, generally due to their probability of being a success in the position, based in large part on previous resume, experience and success.

So, no CDD does not "deserve" another job. IMHO, CDD will probably not be given that "opportunity" again because of how his previous experience as a head coach turned out.

I may be wrong about whether he has that "opportunity" again. If I am, I will not be angry, nor will I lose any sleep. I will probably even wish him any success that does not harm UT.

Too bad this turned into a dooley thread. But since we're on the subject, dooley belongs at a program like La Tech. He can't run with the big dogs.

That probably was a bit aggressive terminology on my part. I just meant he was compensated extremely well for such little results. Like I stated earlier,I just don't care what he does after here. Good or bad. I do feel it is best to just move on. Whether that be wishing him to succeed, fail or do as I plan to which is to try and forget he was ever here. Dang it,Fade. You used to be up for a good argument. Now I'm kinda agreeing with you.

CBJ and staff doing all the right things. The players and families have noticed. I hope CDD never gets another head coaching job anywhere. He doesn't deserve it. He hurt us as much as Kiffin did.

I can't call you an idiot.....

But you say idiot things .

I have started believing that some friendly, small, furry critter removed the thorn for Fade's paw recently. It's refreshing.

I know, right! I'm going to go ahead and blame Dooley for it. Maybe that will rile him up.

I know what you mean, but just in case, I'll add this.

Fade almost never gets riled up. He stirs with a stinky stick sometimes, but he's even keel. I've seen him respond better than most to things that deserved a stick.

He's good people. Not sure many here are willing to admit that in public, lol. Any reputation I may have had here is surely gone now.

Why do you care whether or not Dools gets a head coaching somewhere else? So he didn't win enough for you so you want his career destroyed? Google "perspective" and see if any of it looks familiar.
Thank you dude for stepping up. Its amazing how some people wish ill will on someone that's no longer here and has nothing to do with the program. Its petty, childish and unintelligent.

One of Smith's problems is that he has not been disciplined enough to be where he is supposed to be and allowing big plays on the edge where he gets suckered in. Maybe the new staff can motivate him to play within the system and do his assignments correctly.

Maybe it wasn't all him. That was a problem with the entire defense which goes to lack of teaching. To put it all on Smith is a little unfair. Now if he fails to evolve this year with this staff then your singling out one player may be warranted.

CK out his videos on govols xtra under Kiffin and Dooley. You will hear the same stuff. Like the other posters said, same song, different staff.

No. Not true until you back your word up with a link. I wont do your hunting for you, because I know he hasn't said these things before. He might have tried to be positive before, but he didn't say these same things.

link?

Are we talking about a football coach or Pinocchio? I personally don't care one way or the other how Dooley does from here on out. He fattened his wallet quite a bit thanks to us. That should be plenty of good will. If he does succeed, good for him. If not, I'm not going to be upset. I tink the possibility should be entertained that Smith hasn't lived up to his potential because of Dooley. I really hope that is the case anyway. I'm mostly happy we seem to have a good coach on hand finally, but I don't think we are all now supposed to cheer Dooley on because he isn't here anymore. Fade said he should be able to live his life. I haven't seen anyone trying to prevent that from happening. If people still want to express their displeasure with how he handled things, I don't see why they shouldn't.
hoping someone fails in life isn't opinion, its vitreous. Nobody said u had to wish him well.

Someone not getting a head coaching job is automatically failing in life now? There sure is a tiny percent of the population doing well.

"I haven't experienced anything like this, and this is my fourth year here at the university," he said. "It just brings the fun back".

Hear ya Jacques. It's been too long.

There is simply no substitute for passion and enthusiasm. They will take you where brains and talent sometimes can't.

When you've got all four.......:dance2::rock::yes:

Well, I do hope that he gets a head coaching job in the SEC, and I hope that we play that team every year.:p
